Detailed Reviews
This hotel even has a pillow menu and honestly - having travelled a lot it was the 1st hotel where I enjoyed the pillow! The room was also very quite and it was great not to hear the steps of other guests and doors opening and closing.
The architect has done an excellent work combining a historial building with a modern touch. The food was great at the restaurant and at morning buffet. The service was warm and friendly.

Best hotel in Viljandi for sure!
Located just at a walking distance of basically everything, the hotel is a mix of old and modern but the two styles are blended perfectly. The staff is very polite and helpful, starting from the first meet. Our wide variety of breakfast was delivered straight to the room and on time. The room was very soundproof, could not hear a thing from outside or even from the bathroom. Very fast (3-digit) and stable internet in the room made backuping our trip photos a lot easier.
Thank You again, Park hotel staff!

Lovely old town hotel with a stately history, large rooms and friendly staff. Dinner from the Ormisson restaurant is served in the room, and you can choose from a rich breakfast buffet in your room. Everything is thought through in today's Covid time.

This is a relatively new hotel that looks and feels modern. I think that if you are able to avoid room 406 you are mostly going to get a positive experience, unless there is a lot of 406 lookalikes. Normally I am not the person who always feels that bad things happen to me and I am never lucky, but this room is like drawing a lousy card. 406 was probably supposed to be a cleaning supplies storage cabinet or sth like that. Maybe it was converted to a hotel room for the Folk Festival when all attics, basements and backyard corners are turned into accommodation offers.
The room is a weird L shape. The entrance and bathroom section are quite ordinary but the bed is squeezed to the shorter side of L and has an angular roof. For some unknown reasons the designer of the room has decided to innovate the concept of the reading lamp. This is not placed close to the headboard but to the side of the bed exactly in the middle of the bed, ie about 1 meter from the head side of the bed. The lamp is a pointed led, so taking into account its position it is probably designed for providing light for one's navel gazing. The lamp is securely attached and can not be moved to make sure that it is purposefully used only for navel gazing and not removed into a location where it could be used for anything as unusual as reading. NB! the rest of the bed niche had no lighting at all. No ceiling lights there.
The room has no chair at all. For some weird purpose it contains a low bench/stool of a height of about 40 cm. This is placed under a desk but if you would want to use this stool to sit on while working at the desk it is far too low. There is a small side table in the room that can not be used as a side table because there is no chair to be used to sit and put sth on the table and the table does not fit the bedside either.
The reading lamp issue called for serious customer innovation. The bed is heavy and has about 20 cm room on each side. But it was possible to push the bed to the wall and create a space wide enough for the so far useless side table. Placing the desk lamp on the table revealed that the location of the lamp was now good but the height was still too low. I am extremely grateful for the Park Hotel management that they have provided a trashbin that could be used to increase the height of the lamp to sufficient level. There is a small TV screen on the wall. If you want to watch TV from comfortable distance you have to sit on the edge of the bed. If you lean to the wall on the headside the TV is too small to watch.
The ceiling of the bathroom is painted black and the mirror light is placed in the corner of the quite high ceiling. So if you plan to use makeup while staying there bring your own hand mirror to be used inside the room or do a permanent makeup beforehand.
This room is an excellent example of design that focuses purely on aesthetic and neglects functionality and comfort in all aspects.

Hello KatriKerem. Thank you for detailed feedback. Unfortunaltely 100 years old house gives us 37 different rooms and very different shapes that interior designers had to deal in their best way. Hope to see you again.

We booked two night in park view room and excepted to have a room or similar what is to be seen on hotel presentation pictures - nice luminous room with evident park view. Instead we got "dorm"-like room with roof window where no park is to be seen (well technically one could aim the park but in the reality there were no view), room was cramped with no cozy feeling. From the other reviews I can read that some of the visitors have had the same problem. It is unfair for the clients to pay the same money for so drastically different rooms and it is inadmissible that hotel management equates rooms that are not comparable. I would strongly suggest that if you have plans to visit this hotel, make sure to check in what room you are going to be accommodated. If that is not possible, go somewhere else. We cancelled second night and went to Pärnu from where we got so much better conditions for the same money.
One very positive thing about this hotel is the restaurant - we were pleased with the dinner and breakfast quality.

Hello Sven, thank you for your feedback and as of last week we have changed the room types, so that there will be no more confusion. We have updated the information in our website and online booking channels. We thought this will not be a problem as some clients actually prefer rooms with rooftop windows, but should be loud and clear from now on. Best regards,

Overall, a good experience. The rooms on the 4th floor get a lot of sunlight in summer. So remember to turn on the air conditioning. We made the mistake of turning it off when we went to sleep and woke up sweating - until we got up and turned it on again.
A great breakfast outside on the patio.
Checking in at the hotel went wrong. The receptionist barks out a long list of rules - like if you break them, you will be sent to a gulag in Russia. Given that the corona lock down just ended, we asked if we could get an upgrade as the hotel was more than half empty. The receptionist looked offended (how dare you!!!!). She told us we must pay more. The idea of a free upgrade in a mostly emtpy hotel had not occured to her.
I am not sure that this hotel would be friendly to Russian speakers (not a single document or sign is in Russina).

Really cool-looking hotel with comfy bed and decently sized bathroom with all the necessary essentials like shampoo, hairdryer, towels, bottled water and even TV.
P.S No fridge in our room.
All though we stayed at probably one of the smallest rooms, it was a pleasant stay and with those hot summer days the AC was working perfect and kept us cool. Breakfast was nice, nothing too fancy, but something that everyone with even dietary restrictions could enjoy and be full (no mimosas though). Price seemed to be a good deal considering everything that was included. Plus the location was superb. Oh, and the staff was nice and welcoming. Really recommend when you want to book a stay in Viljandi.

Not reading reviews about this hotel before booking and paying in advance cost me almost 400€. I booked for 4 nights but the air quality was so poor (dusty and loud ventilation, no fresh air coming through, very dry air) so I checked out after 3. night because I became too sleep deprived from previous nights.
The dry air caused nosebleeds for 2 nights, so I tried to hang moist towels in the room.
There was no fresh air coming to the room and felt like the room was hermetic, so I kept the door to the corridor bit open for some time in the night, since the ventilator seemed to blow around the room air.
Sound isolation and absorbing is poor in this hotel, sound of chatting aroud the reception travels well, ventilation is very loud (thankfully I had earplugs with me).
Since I paid for 4 nights and stayed 3, I asked a refund for 4th night. Instead of trying to solve the problem or check the room, the receptionist was rude by starting to compare the hotel service with a meal that I have “half eaten”, which I did not agree. I really feel scammed, because the service of “sleep” they failed to offer and since I was not satisfied with the “service” they offered me for 3 nights, the 4th night should be refunded. How should I have known 24h before that the 3rd night of their “service” will only get worse and that all I want is to get out of that hotel.
Not once during my stay the room was cleaned and I really feel

Rather new hotel in the middle of this charming town. Very good breakfast, room was clean and very nice, a bit cold though (coldest time of winter). Location suberb, parking well organised (free actually) and property itself is well kept. Breakfast staff was very friendly but front office personnel couldn`t care less. When we left, front office clerk was talking with her friend, no "Goodbye", no "Welcome again" just grabbed our keys and continued talking with friend. Other than that, this hotel was very pleasant place to stay.

We had very nice holiday in Park Hotel Viljandi. Friendly people, excellent breakfast, nice view from the room window. You have choice between different room types - smaller and bigger - for one day small room is enough, if you stay longer you can choose bigger room or suite.
