Staying in a "Deluxe Suite" was simply delightful. It is actually a very spacious, modern furnished and especially clean apartment on the 1st floor of a renovated building in one of the nicest shopping streets in Gorinchem. Goud en Zilver has a number of such buildings with several rooms / suites per building close to each other in the street, all easily recognizable by means of its own signboard. There are also a large number of restaurants on this street and in close approximity, some of which have got really good ratings on TripAdvisor. Ideal, therefore, also for a longer stay here. You can of course have breakfast in your own suite (the kitchen is fully equipped for this), but you can also visit a small and somewhat alternative breakfast bar a few doors down. If you inform the reception of G&Z in advance, you are assured of a seat inside and breakfast will be invoiced to you through the hotel invoice. The choice at the buffet is not huge, but wide enough to enjoy, because the taste is good and everything seems to be very fresh. If desired, an egg can be baked or an omelette made, whatever you want. I think the price is a bit on the high side and the entourage does not really suit the style represented by G&Z, I think. On the other hand, you can be sure to get a real typical Dutch-cozy experience here! So you do indeed have to walk down the street for breakfast and also for the reception, sometimes may have to wait a bit longer before someone comes to the reception (which is a bit annoying and unpleasant, especially when it rains) and you are part of the liveliness of the city center, although the windows of the room (when closed) do cancel most of the noise. In any case, we did not experience any nuisance. The downtown location, close to the harbor and to the parking lot is ideal. The town is generally in very good condition, well cared for and clean. We can cordially recommend this place for a stay in Gorinchem!

When I first saw it in the website, I thought it would be weird to stay in a place which has rooms spread in different buildings. I was wrong. The place is great and very charming. The rooms are amazing in every small detail. The staff is extremely helpful and polite and make you feel at home. I'll definitely go back.

Every detail is just perfect, from the moment you understand the concept, you open the door of the building and later of the room you are surprised with great decoration, light, connections, spaces and just details everywhere. Bert was an outstanding host and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. If you are passing by you must make a stop and spend one night here... Breakfast was also worth ever penny!

Lovely boutique hotel in the center of the small and beautiful old town of Gorinchem. The hotel is made up of several buildings in the same street, all having a few rooms. I was in building 4. The high-quality breakfast is served in another building close by. Parking on 10 minutes walking distance for only 3 euro per day. My room was decorated lovely, modern style with a touch of China. Very spacious, kitchen facilities and a real espresso machine (no nespresso). Internet worked well. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. I really regret I was there only for one night.

Not the greatest customer service , had to wait >15 minutes at the reception, the lady who came to give us the keys seemed like we r the one who have to show her around, which doesn’t leave a good first impression. Rooms could be cleaner to. Would look for something else for this price range. Good location, tho.
