We found it easy to find, just minutes from the motorway, but it was lovely, very quiet, clean and comfortable. Opposite a small park to stretch our legs and walk the dog on arrival. We were recommended a local bistro for supper which was excellent. An early departure in the morning meant we did not have breakfast but stopped at...

A beautiful, park like retreat 10 minutes from downtown Lyon. Private, outdoor garden breakfast and perfect service and guidance from proprietor Karine Laurent. Rooms with character. Plus the outdoor pool. We would definitely stay here again.

We were driving down from London to the Costa Blanca with our elderly cocker spaniel and this couldn't have been a more perfect spot for an overnight. You'll need sat nav to guide you from the motorway to the house (it isn't far, but complicated) but once there, it's blissfully relaxing. Karine has a wonderful eye for interior design and...

A beautiful property run by a lovely lady, Karine. We arrived after a very long, torturous drive down from Calais to be greeted by Karine and her Bernese Mountain dog. I had booked us into the Romany caravan without my partner knowing so was feeling a little anxious....he doesn't do caravans or tents! I needn't have worried. It was beautiful,...

In september 2013, we had our traditional trip to the South of France, and wanted to eat again at Paul Bocuse. Having stayed for the same purpose at two other locations, a large hotel and the year thereafter at Dock Ouest (also belonging to the Bocuse group), we looked for something more in the green, but also close to Lyon...

On arrival the owner's mother greeted us telling us that she had a 'room' for us rather than the furnished travel caravan 'Roulotte' in the garden that we'd booked. Fine. It was cold out and we assumed that this was the reason we'd been upgraded… But our confirmation was for the 'roulotte.' I won't pretend that the 'room' wasn't spacious...

A brief two night stop whilst travelling back to the UK from Southern France. This delightful place is a pure haven, set in a wooded and quiet residential area on the outskirts of Lyon. We opted to stay at Les Hautes Bruyeres after a long trip around France the night before we were to fly out of Lyon. The premises are about 45 minutes from the airport. The property is a walled estate and the building is an old house that has been lovingly restored and impeccably decorated. There are three rooms available. Ours...
