Nice beds, but the owner doesn’t seem to have any respect for guests. One of the pillows is rough and feels like it’s straw filled. The WiFi is so slow it doesn’t register on a speed test. Breakfast was basically the cheapest thing they could provide.
I was fortunate enough to find Turtle Dove Guest House on line. I booked with absolute ease and was treated like royalty even before I arrived. Ellanor assisted me with my booking even though it was "after hours" and was even kind enough to let me know that the weather was changing and that I should bring warm clothes. Ellanor was there to meet me on arrival at Turtle Dove which is nested in the most beautiful setting. My room was stunning and huge. Awesome bed. Crisp linen. They had placed food in the fridge for my continental breakfast. Kettle, toaster, bread, cheese, jam, you name it. 150 out of 100 for this place. Full marks to Ellanor! …
My husband and I were en route between Margate and Johannesburg and needed accommodation for one night. Turtle Dove did not disappoint. Ellanor was professional and very helpful from the moment we made the booking to the minute we left. We were accommodated in a large room in the beautiful stone house. The continental breakfast that was included was generous and delicious. We experienced the magnificence of a South African thunderstorm with rolling thunder and a power outage (completely out of the control of the guesthouse). Ellanor was on hand with a lamp for us, and it hardly felt like an inconvenience. I can highly recommend the hospitality of Turtle Dove, and will be back.…
My husband and I visited Turtledove Guest House on the 16th - 18th September 2016. We had a splendid time there. The welcome we received at Reception and from all the staff was awesome. Beautiful and spacious room. "Very quiet" just what we needed for a weekend to relax. The Mountain View was just Spectacular. The place is very neat and clean and homely. What a stunning setting with a view of the 'mountain'. Really comfortable and really lovely rooms. Very quiet and very clean. Everything you could wish for. Beautifully manicured gardens. Plenty parking.
