It is as it says a budget. With no restaurant however the rooms are clean and set out ok. The bathroom is like from a ferry but the sinks in the room. AC didn’t cool the room down at all. The lack of a second pillow didn’t help. For an evening meal we found a nice restaurant a 3 minutes walk away
As for Ibis Budget it was very good stay. It is usual standard for this brand but having various experience with them I rate this hotel high. All was ok, room quite nice and clean, free parking. Maybe the location is so so - you actually need a car otherwise it is in the middle of nowhere, but if you have car then it is convenient for travel.
I stay in this Ibis hotel for 4 days. It is located just next to the exit of the motorway. The triple room costs less than 40 Euro per day. They provide buffet breakfast with many variety of food except meat/egg with the cost of 6.2 Euro pp. It is great value in France. However, the hotel does not have evaluator. It is hard to take the luggage to the 2nd floor. This Ibis hotel does not have restaurant. You can have dinner at Grill 13 or Compagnile Hotel within several minutes' walking distance.
Small and very, very, very clean rooms. The bathroom also small but steril. A nice smell of freshness and cleanliness. That ist the most important thing for me. The price is very affordable and low, I would sleep here again any time ! :)
I booked direct through the Accord group website and used the automatic check in machine at the hotel, so as I did not have breakfast I did actually come into contact with any hotel staff during the weekend, so I cannot comment on this aspect. My room was warm and comfortable (choice of aircon or electric radiator - needed as the Mistral was blowing hard and cold!) and I had everything I needed. Although it is situated some 7kms from the city centre it is an easy drive and there are shops and restaurants on the way in, plus a good boulangerie for coffee and snacks very close.
Not in AIX en Provence at all so name hotel is misleading. That s 26 euro taxi from AIX to hotel. Then I bought breakfast during check in no indication of breakfast time limit, due to jet lag I arrived after time 10.30, barely let me have juice and milk.
Apart from the parking being a little small the hotel was comfortable, clean and the Air Conditioning worked. Breakfast service was very good and plenty of room to have it alfresco. Would stay here again.
The hotel is all-automated. If you get there at night you have to have your reservation number with you otherwise you cannot enter the parking lot (and neither can you get into the hotel). Once inside, the rooms are small but clean, as far as I could see. The Wi-Fi connection was OK. TV OK too. Very "functional" room. Not much useless space. Probably not for claustrophobic. The location is OK (just down the highway and relatively close to Aix center) and, for being so close to a big highway, is relatively silent, but I cannot see how you would get there without your own vehicle. We got there when the mistral was blowing with -5°C outside and the rooms were warm and so was the water for the shower. I would not call it a "very pleasant" hotel, but it is functional, and for this price (42€ for a room of 3) I felt I received what I paid for. Most customers seemed to be transporters of some sort, so probably not fit for children and couples in a romantic mood.…
Crashed for a night at this hotel whilst travelling from the Provence to the Cote d'Azur, the hotel is 6 km from the city centre, has a very limited parking space and no lift to the floors. Vehicles spaces are very narrow, I found my vehicle damaged, scratched by another vehicle, wrote to the hotel management asking them to investigate (visualise the cameras registrations) but never got a reply.
This budget hotel is fine. It is clean and price is sensible. However, the manager should understand that people coming from other parts of the world do not quite understand how Ibis hotels work. We showed up for breakfast at 9:40. Now, if breakfast closes at 9:30, the manager should simply have said "sorry, breakfast closes at 9:30." That's not what he did. I speak French fluently and he was just plain unpleasant. He stared at us in a "what the heck do you want' sort of way. Then got really confrontational. Dragged me to the door to see the poster that announced that breakfast closed at 9;30. When I told him "Look, I speak French (and I wanted to add "however, it's not my language", etc., he interrupted me and with a very unpleasant, mocking tone he answered "me too". Please, dude, if you woke up on the wrong side of bed, it's not our fault. He must eventually have come to his senses because he did let us have whatever was left of breakfast. The reason why I really needed breakfast there? I"m borderline diabetic and I needed sugars, I was beginning to feel sick. I take it that some customers were probably jerks to him a few minutes previously (that is generally the case, in my experience), but why take it out on us? …
