This, alas, is not a good review. While I'm generally quite a fan of Hyatt Hotels, our one-night stay at the Princeton (NJ) Hyatt Regency has been a disaster. We'd arrived around 10 p.m. from overseas. First observation: A silvery candy wrapper was lying on the carpet in the middle of the room, near what looked like chocolate stains, and (ewwww) someone else's face mask was also lying on the carpet by the loveseat. In this era where cleanliness matters more than ever, it makes you wonder if housekeeping has missed two things so obvious, what other sanitary measures are lacking? Shortly after arriving, our room filled up with the smell of marijuana smoke. It was so strong! Called down to the desk, which sent security, who stood outside the next door room and told us he couldn't smell it. So that was that (meanwhile we put all our suitcases up against the connecting door -- it was coming through the bottom and sides). We could smell it. Second call downstairs, I offered the security staffer the option of coming into our room where, I promised, he really would be able to trace the scent; he did, and he smelled it. But: essentially there's nothing he can do. The smell travels around the hotel, because of its ventilation system, and gosh, how sanitary is that? That was terrifying enough to avoid this hotel forever. And yet, it gets worse before it gets better: I asked for the manager on duty, who reiterates there's nothing he can do because ultimately the ventilation doesn't offer any control. Mind you this is a "no smoking" hotel and New Jersey has a ban on smoking pot in public places. I was disappointed that at this point the manager-on-duty decided to get angry with us (I'd said, this is pathetic, meaning this situation is pathetic). He took umbrage to the fact that, in his mind, I'd called him pathetic. He was worse than useless; he took a tough situation and threw fuel onto it. I did reach out to Hyatt before I wrote this review and there has been no response so far. This, alas, is not a good review. I just arrived at this hotel..coming from the excellent Hyatt regency Tysons corner Virginia..Mistaken that the hotel and employees would be the same..shocked From the first moment i arrived at front desk..unprofessional employee..didn’t even bother to welcome us..only one angry person doing all jobs ..It was like it’s not his job and he was doing it temporarily..I gave him my passport and he couldn’t find the main page..gave it back to me in a rude way to find the page!!!!! The answer of every question was “you can talk to the manager tomorrow”..very short silly answers with a weird accent I didn’t understand most of it..had to repeat the answers for me each time..was supposed to stay here for 5 nights two rooms..waiting for tomorrow morning to check out and go to a 3 star Marriott which is much cleaner and professional and less cost..

I love the location and atmosphere at Hyatt Princeton. My only issue is the pool hours but with covid I somewhat understand. The stay is nice, rooms are clean and most staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Staff to include the front desk (Frankie) and the counter lady taking the morning breakfast order were very professional and helpful. As Hyatt Members we felt welcome and glad we made an effort and time to join. We have made additional reservations for an upcoming trip in mid July to Baltimore. Hopefully with the same results.

This is a well-located, great looking hotel with a really nice pool. The rooms are large and well-designed. Unfortunately, it was dirty and noisy. Hallways, common surfaces like tables and chairs were sticky and never clean over the five nights we stayed. I saw the same trash on the floor in our hall three days running. I had an insect bite me in bed. We were moved to another room, where the tub did not drain. After the bed in this room was made, we found a thin glass shard in the sheets. A three day wedding filled the hotel with music, noise, and drums after 11pm each night. Management was very unresponsive, front desk not particularly friendly or welcoming. Never again.
