The Chateau is located in a small village a few miles south of Epernay. I had a lovely room in the roof of the building for our two night stay en route to the Vosges. Service was excellent as was the food.
Our first stay at the Chateau was last year, and as we were heading up through France to Calais this time, we really felt we deserved another stay. It was a delight to be upgraded to the same room we were in last time, complete with the views and creaking floor. We had missed the Orangerie last visit because it was closed, but had eaten so well at L'Atelier next door that we were having difficulty deciding which to do this time. What a shame the Orangerie was closed again (Mondays and Tuesdays). Back to L'Atelier, and another excellent meal. A good night's sleep and a really good champagne breakfast set us up for the onward drive. As we have family in France we can see this becoming a regular stop, and we really should extend the visit to at least two nights sometime.
this was the perfect stay for one night on our way south from the UK. Service was immaculate (already booking was a good experience), everybody super friendly, particularly making extra efforts to accommodate our dog during breakfast. highly recommended.
The château in itself is beautiful. Our room was not in the château itself but in a side building. It was perfectly acceptable. What leads us to rate the hotel as average is breakfast, which was decidedly below par. The smoked salmon was probably the worst we've ever had. What was on offer was not fresh or homemade. It really looked and tasted like commercial food. It is disappointing because one expects so much more of a place like this. The breakfast experience was not helped by the person in charge being rather on edge and speaking loudly and constantly to one of the waitresses. This took place in the pantry whose door was left open for everyone to hear loud comments in French (which we speak and understand. The comments on the state of mind of the person in charge were not exactly positive and courteous), or in the breakfast rooms themselves. It gave a rather bad impression of disregard for foreign guests. The front desk staff is courteous but doesn't seen highly interested in their guests. All in all, could do better for such an establishment such as is and with rates this high.…
Have stayed at the Chateau 5 times since 2003 and whilst it has expanded over the years, it has retained its charm and authenticity. A lovely restful environment to enjoy fantastic food and drink with impeccable service. Great to be able to travel again
This is a lovely chateau in a good location. We stayed in the chateau this time and had a lovely quiet top floor room - very clean and comfortable. We ate in the bistro just outside the gates of the hotel the first night which had an excellent choice of menu. The second evening we dined in the Orangerie fine dining restaurant - excellent quality of food all beautifully presented. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Plenty of good parking available. Certainly would recommend.
Chateau d'Etoges is well situated for those travelling to the UK and looking for a convenient stop off point before heading to Calais. The rooms are traditionally decorated and the bathrooms modern but fit in well. Dinner at the restaurant is good although gets busy at times. They accept dogs which is a bonus and there is a large garden for them to run around in. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.
Our stay at Chateau d'Etoges was excellent. We were able to make a last minute booking for 2 nights, and the communication was great. The property is beautiful, and our morning runs were through sunflower and poppy fields - gorgeous. Thank you for everything!
We were so glad we picked Chateau d'Etoges for our stay in Champagne. The grounds of the hotel were absolutely stunning and the rooms were gorgeous with lots of thoughtful touches. Comfortable beds and quiet secluded location. The restaurant is top notch with great service staff.
