we stayed in Hidden Valley for 2 nights. the pitch we chose was next to the river which was beautiful, kids could play in the shallow water while we put up the tent. However, pitches are very close together, and you can't drive down, so you have to carry everything you need from carpark. Although not far away, it did get tedious very quickly. Toilets although outdated were cleaned regularly throughout the day and always had soap and toilet paper. Campers kitchen was outside but under cover which was a first for us, consisted of electric hobs and sinks only. Toilets were away from campsite across a small well lit bridge, I can't understand why there wasn't toilets closer to tent area. Great choice of activities onsite, although most cost extra, which added up quickly. also no refunds if kids declined activities. which if you have booked aquapark is nearly €50 for 1 adult and 1 child. while the aquapark looked like great fun, it was freezing cold (teeth chattering), even with wet suits on. def only for strong, confident swimmers. equipment needs upgrading, lots of handles torn or missing, some inflatables were not fully inflated. changing rooms close by and hot showers afterwards were great thou. food at lake house was good, staff were polite and friendly. more litter around camp site then I would have liked, no one monitoring pitches or equipment (states electric scooters and go karts not allowed although there were plenty there). too much time between activities and they only run at particular times. kids loved it there, but it was quite expensive for activities, their favourites were downhill tubing (€8.50 each for 30 mins), laser tag (€16 for 1 hr) and rock climbing (€15 each for 45 mins).

We are just home after a week at Hidden Valley, I have very much a mixed bag with this site. It holds so much fun and a place kids make so many memories in , no doubt my little boy will ask to go back however I will be reluctant to ever book this site again , I would however stay near by and visit for a day . We were in a caravan and when we arrived three pitches beside us was set up on the wrong side leaving us with a corner that our awning wouldn't fit on , had everyone else been on the right side as stated on Hidden valley leaflet then we would we have been fine . We didn't put our awning up and moved pitch the next morning . Showers are €1 for 6mins which should do me however the shower was a trickle and was freezing and I spent that long trying to fix it I had to spend €2 , my husband had the same experience in another shower , floors or the shower is also filthy . €6 for to wash your clothes in a one hour wash is also extremely steep so I just didn't wash any clothes . Toilets are clean though in the woman's but my husband said the men's were disgusting and not enough of them and he didn't see a cleaner in them once. Security went around two night we were there and never really bothered the rest of the week , kids run riot until well after 11pm on two nights and not just talking ear aching squealing , Adults also were walking back and forward to toilets not lowering their tone at all . A campercan also set up on the wrong side of their van, no one asked them to change resulting in us parking our car along the road way and we have come home with a massive handle bar mark up the side of our car . Apart from that our wee boy had an absolute ball and activities were well run , staff at these activities were all amazing with kids so I'm so disappointed that everything else didn't live up to what I would have hoped

Brilliant week spent here with our children aged 12 and 4. My 4 year old was so excited with the new junior splash this year as she just had to watch last year when the older one done the aqua splash. They loved the new snow tubing and the new additions to the play park. They also loved the river and playing in it every evening. We went to bingo, the kids disco and the cinema which they also enjoyed. Maybe could charge a little for the bingo and have a cash prize fir the winners. The restaurant food was ok only downside no cooked breakfast on offer. The centra in the town is good value and they have a hot food counter and deli counter. We got sandwiches made for a picnic. The campsite is in a good location for visiting Dublin only an hour or so to Tayto park and Dublin zoo. The facilities on campsite are good only downside is some caravans couldn’t get parked when they checked in I think it would be better to have numbered pitches and you pick a pitch number when you book. The showers stopped working one evening and the cleaner was so helpful when I spoke to her and she was on the phone right away to get someone to come and fix them. The girl that done the disco was really nice and tried to get all the kids to join in. We had a great time and the weather was fab.

We camped in a tent for 2 nights on a full pitch, which was worth the extra money because you can park beside the tent plus the toilets and wash facilities are close. I've read other reviews complaining about the cheaper camp area, but that is also very good and if you get there early you can park near your pitch. Our kids are 18 15 13 and 11. Activities on site are for various ages. We had a ball at lazer tag, mini golf and in the games room. Plus we spent an hour pucking a sliotar around on the grass pitch. The downhill tubing is for kids 7 to 12 in my opinion, aqua park is well equipped for any age, laser tag suits for 9 upwards, paddle boats, kayak and bump boats are on a pond and really for parents with under 12s. None of this is a criticism, hidden valley cater for a spectrum of ages. Great facilities. Activities are not over priced and are comparable to the same activities elsewhere. Some other reviewers must have expected it to be free. Camping is cheap accommodation and this site has outstanding facilities. A great place to base yourself and explore Wicklow. The restaurant is keenly priced, has absolutely wonderful staff and very generous portions. We fed 6 for and average of €13 a head at dinner time, which you would be hard pressed to find anywhere in Ireland. We cooked other meals on our stove. Only issue I had was with another family who went camping with very young kids and let them scream their heads off at 2am, ignoring the noise curfew and their responsibility to their neighbours. But that wasn't Hidden Valleys fault.
Showers and toilets are top drawer. There is a tuc shop on site and a convenience store and off licence 5 mins walk away. I'd highly recommend it.
Book your activities online in advance.

Stayed in the lodge with toilet which was worth the extra €10. I understand its glamping but given I paid €150 for a night I would've expected toilet roll/soap and not having to pay for a shower. As every activity is extra I think the accommodation should be around €100 a night. Recently stayed in apartments in Wexford linked to a hotel and had full use of hotel leisure for that price

As a seasoned camper I had heard many positive reports about Hidden Valley. I was left a little disappointed after our 5-night stay. For 52 a night and a high star rating I would have expected a higher level of quality. The campsite was very packed and the pitches felt tight, we had hardly a foot between ourselves and the caravan next to us. Bathroom facilities were good and they were kept very clean. Washing/Drying facilities were poor, 2 washing machines for such a large number of people is not enough.T Personally I was disappointed that there was no Wi-Fi on site, as the mobile data signal was very poor. Facilities for young children could be better. My children are 5 and 6 which meant they couldn’t participate in some water based activities. Which was fine, not a problem, however the activities they could participate in could do with an upgrade. For example, the Water tyres with the water guns, only 3 of the six worked. The climbing wall, the grips looked very worn and made it very hard for children to climb. The trampoline bungee again was worn, lacked bounce and needed replacement. I feel this is important to draw attention too,as you have to pay extra for these activities. The average I have paid for a pitch is around 30/35 euro a night so when you pay 52 Euro I feel you are entitled to a higher standard. Staff were friendly, however they were very young. There seemed to be a shortage of mature experienced staff on site. Night time was marshaled well and the site was very quiet after 11pm. For the price I can't see myself rushing back.

So much to be positive about here but unfortunately there is as much to be negative about too. There is a lovely playground and the river area is beautiful for splashing in. All the young staff we interacted with were all very pleasant and especially good with our kids. Our major flaws with the place was the lack of toilet and shower facilities for such huge numbers of guests, same for the number of washers/dryers in the laundr, there was not near enough for the number of guests there. Showers cost €1 but the trickle of water you get was a joke and it liked to jump between freezing and boiling just to keep you on your toes. There was lot of late night noise even though their website claims they operate a strick curfew of 10pm. We could hear people shouting and throwing bangers well after 11pm. One evening a lady had to let a roar out pleading for the people to stop with the noise, thankfully our children slept hrough every thing so it wasn't an issue for us but I understand how frustrating it could have been for other parents trying to get their kids to settle. There is no assigned pitches so it's a free for all and trying to get round the site can be hard as people look for spaces available etc. We also witnessed a serious row over a spot that a camper van had left for the day only to come back and their pitch to have been taken, No security seemed to be about to intervene and it seemed to get quite heated. Final major issue was the use of electric scooters, which again their website says is banned but they are everywhere. We witnessed so many accidents and near accidents it was t like taking your life into your hands every time you walked to the shower block etc especially after dark! We had heard so much good about this place but it just didn't live up to the hype, and a definitely a place we won't be returning to.

From my first visit there 4 years ago, I feel the place has gone downhill, campers toilet facilities not as clean as it was, poor water flow in campers kitchen and no regards to space on campsite, had to navigate through people's space and walk along river bank to access tent as every bit of space on field was completely jammed with tents, a little bit of organisation with walkways, allocated pitch areas etc is needed and feel one of the wardens patrolling the site at night was very aggressive towards the children. On a positive note, I thought the lakehouse toilets were spotless, (this level of cleaning should be standard for other toilet block too) restaurant was nice but very overpriced, as were drinks etc from the shops, a 10 min walk to the local shops and the same products were 3 times cheaper. Splash water park was very good and well organised by the staff.

Stayed here for 10 nites with 2Adults and 3teenagers in our caravan. Fantastic set up. Big bonus was the free washing machines and dryers, especially with teenagers at Aqua splash park most days. We found it busy but a lovely atmosphere. One negative was in lake house my son got a 99 and paid for it. Then my daughter ordered one but in a cup as she is GF. The lady used same gloves as she used for my son, for taking the money, for giving my son change and then she dipped the dirty gloves into the sprinkles and scooped up some to put onto ice cream. I pointed out at this point the fact she hadn’t changed her gloves etc so she put on a clean pair and made another up for my daughter. Other than that everything else was great. Highly recommend for families of all ages. As I said we had 3 teenagers and they had a great time here. Plenty to do within a short drive also. A lot of the staff wore their masks below their chin and not over their noses and mouth. I never went to toilets our showers here as I used my own in my caravan but every time I passed they were cleaning them constantly. A lovely cleaner Catherine I saw one morning early scrub the floors outside and the coolers outside. She was amazing at her job and if their was employer of the month award I’d definitely nominate her because it was reassuring to see the place so clean. Would definitely go back. Only other thing was chipper closed early 7pm. You could goto restaurant to get chips after 7 but I felt that was way to early to close during summer months.

Stayed in the Hidden Valley resort for 4 days this week. We were very surprised how modern the site is. Greeted by a lovely young lady on a dreary wet Sunday. Got a pitch over looking the Kayaking lake, solid, level pitch without any adjustment. Facilities are all very clean. Kids (11,9,5) entertained every day with the crazy golf, kayaking, bumper boats, aqua splash etc. Our youngest was very impressed with the playground, and work on going adding more facilities to this area. Restaurant gave great value for money and portions were very good. I think it's important to give a good report when we come across a very well run place. Staff all over the site very polite and mannerly and helpful at all times, not something we can say too often in this day and age. So much so we're gonna probably book for the full week nxt year for the same period. I ment to say all the entertainment costs extra (excluding playground) but there is value and security in the knowledge the kids are safe in everything they do.👍🏼
