Stayed in the lodge with toilet which was worth the extra €10. I understand its glamping but given I paid €150 for a night I would've expected toilet roll/soap and not having to pay for a shower. As every activity is extra I think the accommodation should be around €100 a night. Recently stayed in apartments in Wexford linked to a hotel and had full use of hotel leisure for that price

Our family of 5 stayed in a boutique lodge for 4 days. The lodge had everything we needed. Spacious and very clean. Dishes were provided. Covered picnic table outside. Bbq stand on the deck. Kids loved the loft area to themselves. Tons of activities and we’re glad we stayed for 4 days as it was enough time to do everything without being rushed. The water park is well organised. Playgrounds kept them amused and the new games room was a nice treat for the evenings for the kids. We were never bored and kids sad to leave. The restaurant and takeaway were both reasonably priced and food was great. On our last night we ordered takeaway pizza from the restaurant and ate it on our deck at the lodge while playing board games. Great destination for families. Lots to do in the area. Small shop at end of road has few groceries and Centra up in village. Very pleased with the curfew at night and will definitely return.

On the way home from our best week of summer holidays. Hidden Valley did not disappoint and we booked their discounted stay for next year. The staff are top notch and so helpful. We were missing some of our tent pegs and thankfully reception had some camping gear for sale so we got sorted. The reception has a small shop and the mini melts were yum! As a family we did the aqua park and couldn’t commend the staff enough. Very clean and organised. The park is large and big enough that we could only do each obstacle once. The kids also loved the laser tag and tubing. We made reservations early on arrival to eat at The Lakehouse twice as it’s so busy. We had the Peking Asian on the first night and was so delicious it was hard to pick something different on the second night. However we went with pizzas and lasagnes and both large portions. The cinema upstairs was brilliant as my husband and I could have another glass of wine while the kids were entertained. The festoon lighting around the place is so magical. The campsite reminds us of campsites in France. It’s hard to get a booking here and now we know why, hence already booking for next year. Can’t wait to visit again.

Our second time staying here as a family. We opted for a lodge this year which was perfectly comfy, warm and clean. Easy friendly check in. Aqua park was great fun. New slides in play area went down a treat too. We had lovely dips in the river. I just can’t get over the ‘restaurant’. Filthy. The food was terrible, cheap frozen chips fried in ancient oil. Kids menu was just deep fried cheap nuggets, sausages etc. Zero healthy options. No fruit for sale, not a vegetable to be had on the menu! Simple easy additions would help the health of the nation! Some steamed veg, pasta, salad bar anything! Staff were all over the place, no management, nobody cleaning tables or removing dirty plates etc. really letting the place down. The prices were outrageous too. Plastic cups for all drinks, no recycling bins for these, which in these dire times of climate action is just ignorant. The snack shack was worse! One fryer working and drenched in the ancient oil too. For anyone visiting, bring your own food or leave and eat elsewhere. Any staff member I spoke to said they were exhausted and working up to 15 hours per day.

So much to be positive about here but unfortunately there is as much to be negative about too. There is a lovely playground and the river area is beautiful for splashing in. All the young staff we interacted with were all very pleasant and especially good with our kids. Our major flaws with the place was the lack of toilet and shower facilities for such huge numbers of guests, same for the number of washers/dryers in the laundr, there was not near enough for the number of guests there. Showers cost €1 but the trickle of water you get was a joke and it liked to jump between freezing and boiling just to keep you on your toes. There was lot of late night noise even though their website claims they operate a strick curfew of 10pm. We could hear people shouting and throwing bangers well after 11pm. One evening a lady had to let a roar out pleading for the people to stop with the noise, thankfully our children slept hrough every thing so it wasn't an issue for us but I understand how frustrating it could have been for other parents trying to get their kids to settle. There is no assigned pitches so it's a free for all and trying to get round the site can be hard as people look for spaces available etc. We also witnessed a serious row over a spot that a camper van had left for the day only to come back and their pitch to have been taken, No security seemed to be about to intervene and it seemed to get quite heated. Final major issue was the use of electric scooters, which again their website says is banned but they are everywhere. We witnessed so many accidents and near accidents it was t like taking your life into your hands every time you walked to the shower block etc especially after dark! We had heard so much good about this place but it just didn't live up to the hype, and a definitely a place we won't be returning to.

Hidden treasure really. Brilliant facility really clean, we visited aqua splash park and it was fantastic. Really easy to find, really easy to book. Check in was straight forward and then the staff were friendly and very supportive as my son was a little anxious but a little help from the instructor made the difference. It was a great hour of fun for big and small kids.

This is, without doubt, the worst, most overpriced, badly staffed establishment I have ever been unfortunate enough to visit. I stopped by this evening with my partner and 3 kids. The restaurant was noisy and messy so we decided to eat on the terrace. You get your own menu and place order at the till. There was a few ahead of me and the young staff were more interested in chatting and organising their night out than serving .. Looking around there was no sign of a manager or anyone with authority on duty. Hard to tell who was who as no-one wore name tags. I have been at a high level in the catering trade for over 20 years and this place was more like a staff canteen than a restaurant. We ordered- I x cheese pizza-12.95( frozen bought in pizza base/ skim of tomato sauce and a sprinkling of cheese) 2x chicken fillet burgers-€14.95-these were disgraceful.1/2 chicken fillet on brioche bun with limp lettuce and chips that had been cooked in week old oil. 2 kids sausage and chips-€7.95-2 sausages that had been sitting in a Bain marie-again same awful chips. 2 portions of onion rings that cost €4 but I was charged €6.95 for. 1 bowl of chips at €3.50 that I had to return as they were literally the scraps of the chip basket. 2 cans Diet Coke at 1.50 Sprite at 1,50 2 capri sun at 1.50 The price was over €80. Half of every thing was left on the plate. The tables were filthy, bins full, staff wandering around. Aimlessly chatting and collecting donuts to bring home. They were very clearly disinterested in their jobs. I was given a refund when I complained about being overcharged for the onion rings (5.90) I asked to cancel a bowl of chips and return the inedible ones (€7) It took over 5 minutes for the clearly un—trained teenage till operative to figure out what amount to refund me. At the end of the meal I spoke to what looked to be a senior member of staff and complained about the standards of the food and the ridiculous pricing-she said the staff constantly mentioned it to the manage. I had thought I might take my kids to the park for a weekend. I can tell you I will never, ever darken this dumps doors again. I have not issue paying for good food and tipping well for good service. I left this place feeling like I had been physically robbed. Avoid at all costs. you’d be better burning your money than spending it here.

We had a great few days away here as we always do. We come here every summer , the kids absolutely love it . The additions to the site are great. There are a few negatives though in comparison to our previous stays here. Firstly the quality of food in the restaurant has gone downhill big time. We would normally have eaten dinner here most evenings but ended up going up the town the last two. The cleanliness of the shower block has also gone downhill . I ended up mopping the shower myself two mornings and for other people. Lastly we always do the laser tag and know exactly what games are played. We arrived early but the lads running the game didn’t arrive over until two minutes before the start time . Between giving the safety talk and setting up teams etc it ate into everyone’s hour of play. The kids were very disappointed as it had been mentioned at the beginning we would be playing in the other area. Not good enough at all for the price we had payed . If you ask people participating to be there early then surely the staff should be there waiting?? Also half the guns were not working and people were playing with broken guns .The prices for food and activities have dramatically increased . Management need to sort out quality of food as price does not reflect the quality. Current laser tag guns are well past use by date , need to invest in new set of guns as the cost for a family to play this game is a lot and the customer deserves better

Brilliant week spent here with our children aged 12 and 4. My 4 year old was so excited with the new junior splash this year as she just had to watch last year when the older one done the aqua splash. They loved the new snow tubing and the new additions to the play park. They also loved the river and playing in it every evening. We went to bingo, the kids disco and the cinema which they also enjoyed. Maybe could charge a little for the bingo and have a cash prize fir the winners. The restaurant food was ok only downside no cooked breakfast on offer. The centra in the town is good value and they have a hot food counter and deli counter. We got sandwiches made for a picnic. The campsite is in a good location for visiting Dublin only an hour or so to Tayto park and Dublin zoo. The facilities on campsite are good only downside is some caravans couldn’t get parked when they checked in I think it would be better to have numbered pitches and you pick a pitch number when you book. The showers stopped working one evening and the cleaner was so helpful when I spoke to her and she was on the phone right away to get someone to come and fix them. The girl that done the disco was really nice and tried to get all the kids to join in. We had a great time and the weather was fab.
