We booked a last-minute two night stay as a resting place on our roadtrip. The hotel is not directly on the beach but very few are in this area. It is in a nice forresty place just 2 minutes walking from the beach. Hotel is surrounded by a large garden including a large and comfortable pool. The opening times of the pool are enforced very strictly so it's not possible to have an early morning swim before 9:00 am.

The rooms are quite basic but offer everything you need. There is a bar near the pool with friendly service for drinks. Breakfast served both inside and out and offers all you need including coffee made to order.

The parking is large enough and there is a charging spot for electric cars. Getting the car connected requires help from the staff and it is not cheap but thay are heklpful and it works.

Excellent kindess and professional staff, (especially Francesca), the hotel is an ancient italian Villa situated in a nice and quiet contest (wide garden), at 200 mt to the beach by feet. Close to Forte dei Marmi (about 10min by car) and Pietrasanta (30 min).
We booked a deluxe / superior room, in my opinion quite expensive for the hotel level (3 star), 170€ per night in august, in fact the room was really small and seems to be a standard room, with old furniture, there were just an ‘open wardrabe’ with symple curtains quite uncomfortable for a long vacation, no ‘italian bidet’ available in the room and all the hotel too. Suggested for short holidays/weekend.

I absolutely loved my time at Hotel Cavalieri del Mare! This charming old villa, with its historical vibes from the Sforza era, won me over. The pool, gardens, and top-notch service were the cherry on top of an amazing stay. Can't wait to go back!

We arrived without a reservation on a Saturday in July and were amazed that they just had a cancellation and one room left. Marilyn at the front desk was very kind and sweet and showed me the room which was lovely with a large bed, sofa, desk, small safe, private bath, and small balcony overlooking the lovely back property. We enjoyed the quietness and relaxing atmosphere. The large swimming pool and relaxing lounge chairs, free wi-fi, bikes, free parking, delicious breakfast and warm friendly feeling were all added attributes of this lovely hotel that was tucked away off the road from all the noise and traffic. This was our first time to Massa, and it was a lovely beach town. We don't believe they had a fitness center. We would definitely visit again and most certainly stay at a great find "Hotel Cavallieri Del Mar".

We booked this hotel at short notice and the booking process was eased by helpful front office staff. This was the recurring theme throughout our stay. A warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is a spotlessly clean traditional and family run. The garden grounds are generous and well maintained with a great swimming pool. We know this area well and the location is excellent.

We are very pleased with our stay at hotel Cavalieri del Mare. A small hotel in a quiet area. Nice garden and poolside, walking distance to public beach and restaurants and the hotel have some bikes That you can borrow. Breakfast is ok. We will definitely come back to this hotel next time in Tuscany.

I always select the hotel with level of swimming pool. So if it is perfect i dont care about other things.
Actually the room is small but always clean.
They have a restaurant but its not their own. They didnt have various dishes to select. But anyway staff were always gentle.

The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden with plenty of trees and flowers which gives you a relaxed holiday feeling. The room was on the 2nd floor and was amazing ! The location is good if you are travelling by car – it’s 300 meters from the beach but you’d have to walk a bit further to find restaurants (approx. 10 – 15 minutes). The restaurants in teh area serve the traditional pasta and pizza but the nicer restaurants by the beach also serve delicious seafood. For a snack I would definitely recommend a focacceria (I think it was even open during the siesta hours..) close by called The wall (by the piazza ronchi). Where they served delicious focaccias! The beach is great and you can rent a chair and umbrella or use the public beach. There’s a train station in Massa Centro which is a good 10-15 minutes away by taxi (cost around 15-20 EUR). The staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly and helped us with train times and bike routes to Massa Centro. There are also bikes that can be borrowed.
The hotels served a buffet breakfast and you could sit in the nice garden. However the breakfast wasn’t the best I’ve tried. I missed some fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, brown bread and freshly squeezed juice. They did have some nice pastries though.
As mentioned the location of the hotel is good if you have a car. If you however is travelling around by train like me and my husband it is not much around the hotel. The beach is close but not many restaurants close by. I would recommend the nice walk to Massa beach where there are some restaurants .We also visited Massa Centro one day which was a nice town but we couldn’t find many restaurants. We took the train from Massa train station to Florence (ca 2 hrs. ) but watch out for pick pockets by the station! A great hotel if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday.
