As it was off season the hotel seemed very quiet; but, there were other guests we rarely saw them. The staff day and night were extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The art deco feel to the hotel was a lovely added touch. It's easy to find whether walking in about minutes from the border or take a five minute taxi ride. Extremely close to shops restaurants and the main centre of the town. Our windows looked out on to the park across the road and you can see the rock in amongst the trees. The only thing I would point out is if you have extreme mobility issues there is a lift; but, you have to climb a few stairs to get to it; but for most people extremely manageable. There is a museum right across the road in the park.

Stayed for 2 nights with two other friends. Positives: -fast WiFi -5 min walk from the border -1 min walk from shops and restaurants -towels were changed and room cleaned during those 2 days -a young lady at reception was helpful, together with another man at reception who was very polite, we Google translated that we were cold at night and they brought us 2 heaters Negatives: -one of the receptionists didn't speak any English at all -there was no vending matching, no tea, coffee, no kettle -the light bulbs above our heads didn't work, there was only the main light in the room -the street gets very noisy at night -the window curtains were torn and scruffy -the hotel itself could do with a bit of refurbishment -shower curtain looked like it was never changed All in all if you're looking for some basic for 2, 3 days - this is the place for you however there are much better places to stay at. This place has got a potential but needs a bit of an investment.

... and that's about it. There are NO facilities at this hotel, no tea, no coffee, not even a vending machine. There was no hot water on the second and third night we stayed. TV didn't work and I got bitten to death by something (stayed at a different hotel on the fourth night, zero bites). A very thin kind of hospital blanket was on the bed. Some of the reviews say 'no frills' they are correct, there is absolutely nothing, you are paying for a ceiling. I'm not sure I would even want to drink the water. On a plus side, it's central and a 5 minute walk from the border. The star given is for Patrick, the night attendant who was very sweet and helpful. I wouldn't stay here again.

Where do I start, awfull place, not sure I've seen worse, arrived expecting a disabled access hotel as that is what was confirmed on booking, no it was not and yes we have a lift but half a flight of stairs to get to it on each floor??? eventually got to the room, hairs in the bed, dirty, may as well take the windows out and use clingfilm as the noise was terrible from the road, and that was over the noise from the staff three floors down all night, well certainly won't be going again especially for the same money around the corner is the five star ohtels Campo de Gibraltar, please see some of the photo's you will not believe your eyes, wish we had first.
