At short notice we booked a table for 7 adults and 3 little dogs - the staff were amazing, they cleared space, put up a table specially and couldn't have been more helpful. Yummy Sunday roast with great veggies - delicious puds. Thanks so much - you made our day.

A group of us stopped here for breakfast on route to a big local rugby match in Harrogate. Very warm welcome, beautiful old building, very tastefully decorated and delicious food. Highly recommend anybody passing to pull into the spacious car park and enjoy.

Called in for lunch today as I have read nothing but good reviews anout the Hopper Lane. We had a lovely lunch, everything obviously cooked by people who care. The service was great, everyone very friendly. Oh, and by the way, a lovely pint too. Nice to go to an independent family run pub not tied to a Pubco. We... More

We visited here mid week for an evening meal with friends and found the food to be excellent and the staff very friendly and helpfull. A log fire was burning and the atmosphere was great, would definitely go back again.

Seven of us stayed here, two joined us for dinner on one night. A busload of returning racegoers arrived just in time to stall our meal, but it was worth waiting for. The lamb Henry was tender and flavoursome and a delight to eat. I followed that with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream - again, as I had that... More

A good mix of traditional rural with modern popular food choices. Friendly staff and a good menu choice. Was a busy night and they had a good few large tables, and a coach party who turned up... which did impact the speed of food. We weren't in a rush and when the food arrived it was great. There is accommodation... More

What a lovely welcome we received here from Andy and Allison. We stayed in the hotel too and the rooms are lovely. Food was excellent and the real ale well looked after. Looking forward to another visit sometime. Best value in the area!

Sunday roast beef - Y Puds and vegies. Excellent - no microwaves here - other main courses - asparagus quiche + real chips; delightful - & 'black pudding salad' superb. Small menu screams fresh, local & not microwave/freezer. This is a 5 star dales pub. great staff & top tasty food. Sticky toffee pudding & crème Brule - perfect end.... More

My wife and I called in here after a day in Harrogate and had not been for several years. It won't be long until we're back. The new owners have tastefully furnished the bar and dining areas, but having witnessed the Sunday roast beefs coming out we changed our original order. Wow we were far from disappointed it was exceptional.... More
