Good room, well-equipped, very clean and warm. WiFi, tv, mini-bar etc. Hotel has majestic central atrium style 'rest area' with bar service. Impressive exterior fronting large cobbled square where markets and festivals occur. Abundance of local bars within walking distance if you fancy venturing out or saving money ! Hotel restaurant good but not haute cuisine. Beware some bars have...

It's sometimes not good to go back to a place in case it's not as good as last time but we didn't need to worry because the parador at Lerma was every bit as good. Conveniently situated for a first or last night stop before the ferry in Santander about 2 hours away. For a more scenic route take the...

The Ducal Palace is an imposing building, with a grand frontage looking over the main square (which provided free parking everyday except Wednesday when there is a market. The room we chose was a quirky, turret room, with roll top bath in a cleverly designed area behind the bed. Small but perfectly formed! The addition of another chair would have...

Lovely Parador in a great location if you are traveling north/south on the A1 motorway, this is one of the more expensive Parardors! But it is very good and worth the money, we had a small problem with the hot water in our room which took some time to rectify, but the duty manager was very charming and did his...

Friendly staff, great lobby for drinks and quick food. A very good restaurant with good wine recommendations. The hotel also has a garage for cars so you don't need to leave it in the center of the town. Quiet place and great breakfast.

Wonderful, historic, comfy hotel located in an historic and friendly town. Ideally located when diving north to south. Only problem is, as with most Paradors we've stayed in, the breakfast, albeit ample in choice, the cooked breakfast is always cold and unpleasant. We should learn but hope one day they get it right.

Very good location for a first night stopover as Lerma is only 3 hours from Santander and a full day's drive from the Costa Del Sol. Good public parking in the main square beside the hotel. Snacks available all day meaning you do not have to wait till the restaurant opens at 8.00pm to get some food.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The amazing ducal palace at Lerma, now a Parador, is located in the upper part of the city. The hotel features a central courtyard surrounded by lovely columned galleries. The elegant majesty of this palace from the era of the Hapsburgs and its lovely interiors, with beautifully designed lighting and decor, will make your stay an unforgettable experience. The Plaza Mayor (Main Square) is opposite the main facade of the palace. At night, the lights of the Parador make it look even more magnificent and stately. The medieval quarter, Arch, Carcel Bridge, San Blas Convent, Santo Domingo Monastery, Pasadizo del Duque (Duke's Passage) and former collegiate church of San Pedro are just some of the treasures you won't want to miss. The area around Lerma is well worth a visit. 22 Kilometers away is Covarrubias, a lovely village where San Cosme y San Damian Collegiate Church and Dona Sancha and Dona Urraca squares invite travelers to enjoy a leisurely visit, imagining that time has stood still in the Middle Ages and that little has changed since the year 987, when Count Fernan Gonzalez founded the town. About half an hour away by car is another treasure: the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, a Romanesque jewel which has become a place of spiritual and artistic pilgrimage. It is also not far to beautiful Aranda de Duero, city of wine, monuments, history and culinary expertise. ... more   less
