I really enjoyed my stay at The Rocks Homestay, from the warm welcome from Teresa when I arrived fairly late at night (after a rather epic 9 hour meander through Arthur's Pass) to Peter very kindly dropping me at the car park near a rainforest track in order to save me from having to walk back along the main road... This time we have just reached the Christchurch airport and we are renting our car on the airport. After a drive a 300km we are reaching this BnB and we get a welcome from a lady who is the owner of this house and we feel at home. At Night she offered a glass of hot milk which was a... More

We enjoyed staying at the Rocks with the exception of the biting bugs. There are no screens on the doors or windows and that makes for a stuffy room as there on Air Conditioning. Wine was served in the evening and the couple that run this establishment are delightful. We had a fantastic trip and this location was all a... More

Charming intelligent hosts, the best breakfast in NZ, very beautiful environment, good beds, clean apartments, an incredible view of the sea, I strongly recommend this place. Teresa and Peter make you feel at home. Thanks.

The views are absolutely stunning. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They can't do enough to make you comfortable. Very knowledgeable of the area, hikes etc. Dinner in the area is just mediocre! You'll have to drive for good food.

Stayed for three nights in February and had a fabulous break away at The Rocks. Teresa and Peter were so welcoming and engaging but very happy to leave me to discover their wonderful home and beautifully wild garden. Homemade breakfasts every morning with local produce and light-hearted chat with the other guests made me feel right at home. The sunset... More

Any review has to be as much about the B&B as the owners. Peter and Teresa are lovely friendly people. However taking into account the price, The Rocks doesn't meet my criteria for a five star review. The problem with staying in a B&B is that it is very personal. You have a lot of interaction with the owners. This... More

Stayed one night in February. Fantastic views with native birdlife in the immediate vicinity. Super friendly and professional hosts who really made us feel welcome. The breakfast was all home made and they make a special effort to keep the menu organic and it was very tasty! Highly recommended to anyone who likes one of those hidden-away special places that... We really enjoyed my two night stay in this lovely B&B, we were staying here in January and Teresa and Peter were very accommodating hosts, making us feel at home from the moment we set foot into the house. The room was very neat and clean and had an awe inspiring view over the ocean and mountain range. But I... More

We had just a one night stop here on our way up the West Coast, intending, as most people do, just to see the Pancake Rocks. They certainly are worth seeing, at high tide is best, but there are also excellent tracks to explore through native forest along the Porarari river – you can kayak there too – and the... More
