I was expecting a very run down hotel, but no, its slightly dated and needs a repaint and I could of scrubbed the walls but its got charm, I could see its red roof from miles away, its got loads of facilities, good wellness health spa facilties and more. The basement is worth a visit with its bowling alley and gym/squash court. The staff have limited english but they get by and I didnt have a problem but I did have a polish companion. Its the view you will remember, crikey its amazing, oh and there is some traffic noise reverbing from the distant road.
We stop by for lunch, but never again. Lazy staff wanted to cheat us. They have chashing mashine in ofline mode to avoid taxes. Double check your receipt and prepare for long waiting. Getting your first drink in the middle of second meal is not normal.
This is an old hotel ~ 1977, and was used by high government officials during the Soviet era. However, the hotel is very good. The reception staff excellent, very helpful. But, the best thing is the view from the bedroom window of the mountains, absolutely stunning! The hotel is old - for example the woodwork on the balcony has fungus and requires attention. Room service / daily cleaning could be better. The restaurant is excellent dinner either a four course buffet or a la carte - if the latter the portions are huge! It is only 3 km from the Polish border and the roads are surprisingly good.
Even the hotel isn’t new, it looks fabulous. Rooms and apartments are very comfortable, the view is breathtaking, staff helpfull, food tasty. Swimming pool with warm water and waterslide is suitable for families with children. There is quite large area around the hotel. Unforgettable location.
Dysfunctional hotel in a beautiful setting. I booked a two night stay at hotel Montfort based on the pictures of an exceptionally talented photographer/Photoshop expert. A few moments after reserving a family room, I received a call from the receptionist telling me there was an issue with the rooms and if we would be ok with a regular 2-person room. Having a very lenient nature, I agreed as they would provide us with a botte of Prosecco and a fruit basket upon check-in. Horrendous was the experience as we entered a worn-out Soviet style hotel, with none of the promised goodies. My complaints were ignored by all present personnel which leads me to suspect a scam operation: a large two-bathroon family room is advertised as the only one available. Once you reserve they tell you a story about overbooking and propose you a smaller room. This way they can sell their rooms at a premium rate. The occasional complainer is satisfied with a bottle of (inferior) sparkling wine and a free dinner at a mediocre buffet at which they can charge you wines at a per centiliter measure. Double profit! Apart from this negative experience some positives: exceptional mountain view, satisfactionary wellness facilities and an hilariously degenerated air hockey experience in the basement of the complex.…
