I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with family. We had a lovely time and we were really lucky as on Saturday the Hotel had an organised trek with a tourist guide up to the mountain, also there was live music in the evening.
Most or the staff members are really nice and welcoming, but there are some exceptions, however, this could happen anywhere... The waiters and waitresses are working hard and the service is good and fast.
The buffet dinner could be better. Selection is good, however, the food was too oily with not too many choices of healthy food....
The Spa is really nice, however, a deep cleaning of the pool would be advised as there were moulds at the edges of the swimming pool.
This Hotel has all the Spa facilities what you could except and I think with a little refurbishment and a but more care they could easily have 4 stars... ;)

We spent a long weekend with the family at this hotel. Its location and surroundings are beautiful. The hotel has two wings, a patinated older and a newer one, connected by a hanging corridor. There are two wellness areas. Not too big, but everything you can find, the swimming pool is excellent. Cleanliness and services are adequate. The quantity and quality of the food is moderate. Overall, considering its value for money, it is good in its category.

Room was clean&nice, view&place beautiful but the dishes in the restaurant were poor, dry and not too delicious.I would recommend it but should eat somewhere else! The reception is only open from 6am-midnight,also it is a disadvantage that they only open wellness from 9am-9pm so if you eat the dinner from 7pm-9pm you cant go after that to the wellness part.Compared that this hotel is only 3stars it is absolutely clean and the rooms are nice.Waiters in the restaurant are not too kind :(

The whole building is very pretty and so clean. We liked the finnish saunas and the steam room the most. The staff is very helpful and polite. The food is okay. Perfect for a weekend with some hiking around the woods.

We spent 3 nights in the hotel. There are two wings, we stayed in the Erzsébet Wing, it's the older one with no airconditioner, but the view was great to the park side. We were in Room 1003 and it was comfortable, clean with a biggish bathroom (with hair drier). The kitchen was simply great, we had buffet breakfast and dinner in the package, it was one of the best ever. The other great thing was the nature around, with a stream, a park and lots of walking paths in the neighbouring forests. The hotel organises activities: nordic walking every second day, a long trekking, aqua fitness (which wasn't a big hit in my opinion). At the reception check every time which program will be held that day. The wellness is quite good, there's a gym, a sauna complex, which operates from 7am to late night! with an aroma sauna, a Finnish sauna and a salt cabin. plus two indoor pools with underwater massage and a pool outside for swimming (but it gets full quite quickly). It's absolutely a Paradise for children, huge playground outside and games inside, even board games to borrow at the reception.

This is a 3 star hotel. We were satisfied with everything including the rooms, wellness section, services, and food, because we expected a 3 star experience. The surrounding area is beautiful, so I would recommend this place for anybody, who is not about the glimmer and shine, and does not want to spend too much on accomodation. One small downside is the layout of the hotel, you have to walk a lot to get to the different areas. If you are looking for high quality, I would recommend a 4 star hotel.

As a last minute decision we made a reservation at this hotel, because all other wellness hotels were sold out for the days we wanted to visit Matra, the Hungarian mountains. This hotel has only three stars. We were told, that the building originally belonged to a very rich Hungarian noble person,Mihaly Karolyi who built it for his daughter "Erzsebet". But when later I checked this fact, I learned that the name of his daughters were not Erzsebet. Regardless, this is an old and very pretty building with a new wing that was added not long ago. We ended up staying in the new wing in a room under the roof, that had no balcony only smaller windows overlooking the garden and an old "haunted-looking" mansion in desperate need of fixing.
Since it was March and nature was still hibernating, the park looked gray and desolate, but I am sure it is green and inviting spring till fall.
The hotel has smaller rooms, with tiny twin beds either separate, or together for a king-like size. Regardless of the look, it was quite comfortable to sleep in. The cotton bedding, thick comforter and soft pillows were fine.
The bathroom was spotless with new tiles and fixtures. It had shower only with soap/shower-gel/shampoo dispenser all in one I guess. The reception area sells toiletries if needed. I didn't find blow-dryer in the room, but I am sure you can pick up one from the reception also.
The room had a small refrigerator filled with product that you can buy for high price..just as everywhere. Older but functioning TV-set with many channels. I was surprised how strong the WI-FI signal was, since we were on the top of the building. The room had a large closet with a safe in it. Also they supplied robes for the wellness, tho' if you are bigger than normal, then it may be too small.
The room price included breakfast and dinner buffet style. I thought the breakfast was really good with many selections of cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, etc plus hot stuff of eggs etc. Really liked their coffee and juices. The dinner selection was not as grandiose, but most of the selections were tasty. Some of the dishes I felt like they were trying to cut corners by using more rice than meat (in stuffed cabbage for example), but all together food was good.
There are two bars in the hotel, one in each wing with food selection also.
There are also two wellness areas, again one in each wing. They have inside and outside lap pool. The outside is only for summer time. They have saunas and jacuzzi. The wellness is not as high end as some other hotel's, but it reflects to the 3 stars... and the hotel charges less, so in a way you get what you pay for. It can be crowded with small children. Massages, facials are very reasonably priced and provided by very well trained people. Zsuzsanna was really good for my facial.
There is a playground for toddlers, table-pool and bowling for adults. The exercise room has many old equipments.. they are almost as rusty as the ones on Venice Beach in LA. But functional if needed.
Weekends they have live music at the bar area. When we were there, a guy entertained singing and playing on a keyboard and he was really good. Surprisingly good for a small place like Paradfurdo.
Staff consists mainly young adults. All of them were very polite and helpful. We befriended the bartenders at the new wing. Forgot their names, a young man and a very blond woman. Both of them were really helpful and put up with us. (Sister can be very specific about ordering.)
The hotel surrounded by parks and forests to walk and hike. The air is clean and crisp. Bicycles can be rented. All together this is a hotel that is a good deal for the price you pay. Recommend it with small children or nature lover, who comes here to hike and not spend all the time in the hotel.

Jakub asked a question Nov 2019
Hello, any tip how to get in from budapest by bus or train?
Answer from HKPRDF
Paradfurdo, Hungary1 contribution
It is easy and convenient to get to Parádfürdő from Budapest by bus. :) There is a direct bus from Budapest to Parádfürdő twice a day. The bus goes to Bükkszék and stops at Parádfürdő, next to the hotel. The bus starts from Stadionok Autóbusz Pályaudvar (Bus Station) in Budapest. Otherwise you need to take a bus to Gyöngyös, and you have to change there to another bus to Parádfürdő.
