Very hospitable family run hotel! Had a ground floor room which opened to sun filled garden with deck chairs. Good breakfast buffet; the dinner was delicious! The family running the hotel were very helpful and friendly. They were enthusiastic about providing suggestions for things to do in the area of which there are many! There is a hiking trail right...

The Hotel Gabriele is beautifully located at the foot of the Alps, a few minutes walk to a beautiful lake and crystalline river for those who like swimming, a twenty minutes drive from the Chiemsee and an hour's from Salzburg. We were welcomed which much courtesy on our arrival by the family who owns the hotel. We were soon to...

The hospitality of this 'Gemutliche' hotel is outstanding. Hotel Gabrielle is German's best example of quality, value for money coupled with friendliness. All members of the (owner) family and staff did their utmost in flexibility and assistance to make our stay a success. In particular I should mention Adrian and Peter for their friendly and superb help. Peter's after dinner...

Once in awhile the photos and words from a website truly represent a hotel destination. So it is with the Hotel Gabriele. Located in a lovely valley, close to Berchtesgaden and the Austrian border, The Hotel Gabriele is worthy of the highest accolades for setting, hospitality, atmosphere, superb restaurant (separate review) and an overall feeling of being a genuinely welcomed...

Hotel Gabriele Nestled up against a hill in Bavaria, south of the Chiemsee and about one hour's drive from Munich is the Gabriele. Driving through town you would never guess that such a place is there (and for sure you should consult Google Earth or a good online map before trying to find the place.) Our room was a generous...

This is a typical of the very best type of small German gasthof. Rooms very comfortable with all mod cons. Lovely views and situated at the very edge of the village. Pleasant undemanding low level walks from the hotel. It is only a few miles from the Chiemsee and a good base to explore the area from. Restaurant good quality...

Second visit to this hotel. It was once again a wonderful stay. Very clean, good food, good location and you feel really "taken cared" of. Rented e-bikes one day which was great fun, although the weather wasn't really that wonderful. Already planning our next visit!

Before I go on to the hotel itself, I'd like to talk a little about Unterwossen. By my standards it's pretty much the perfect location. Big enough to have a convenient selection of restaurants and a drug store in walking distance, but not as crowded and touristy as the larger towns nearer to the lake. Plus, it is a very...

Stayed here for a week over Christmas. This is a wonderful place! They really take care of you. Excellent location on the edge of Unterwössen which is a little nice town that has restaurants, shops, a pharmacy, banks, a sport shop where you can rent equipment, etc. Great walking tracks (with excellent signs), wonderful cross country skiing tracks etc. Some...

We had a wonderful time in a well appointed, super clean room with superior dining for a week. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a terrific stay and we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, either for the winter or spring/summer season. An excellent choice for anyone wishing...

“If you want a room with standup shower let them know in advance. Room (39) is directly above the lobby and parking area, potentially an issue but turned out to be extremely quiet and had a nice view out to the south. There are multiple view options - meadows and mountains - depending on your in-room amenity preferences. Be assured all requests are greeted with a smile from Gabriele.”
