I had the greatest pleasure to stay with this beautiful family! The place was nice, clean and comfy! The view around are incredible. We went to the geothermal natural bath and spend fantastic afternoon. In the evening we had dinner with the family, everything was fresh and delicious! But the most important are the people we met. They are sł... More

The rooms are basic but functional. There's everything you need. 4 rooms share two bathrooms. We took a walk up to the waterfall on the family's farmland where you have a great view. The breakfast is amazing especially the waffles. And we enjoyed very much the conversation with the family and thanks for all the helpful advice!

Staying at Solvanes felt like staying at someone's home with really nice, genuine people. They invited us to feed the lambs with them, which was a highlight! Lots of sheep and horses around and a beautiful place to stay. Quite far from anywhere, but worth the distance. Great breakfast and very accommodating.

I stayed three nights at Solvanes and enjoyed every minute. It is a family run farm, we were welcomed warmly and felt at home. We stayed in the lower house, which had shared facilities between four rooms. It was wonderful to have the use of a communal kitchen. We opted for breakfast in the main house, which was good and... Our stay at Solvanes was our second stop of an 11 day tour around Iceland. It was a short detour off of the ring road, but we were glad to have made it. One great thing about the location is that there is a wonderful riding stable within walking distance. The accommodations were clean and neat, and had everything we... More

Eydis and Måni are gracious hosts and good cooks! My daughter and I stayed overnight and while farm accommodations are basic, the rooms are clean and bright. The highlight for us was dinner with grilled meats, potatoes and string beans. I know. It sounds simple, but this was well prepared and we had our fill. Dessert was homemade ice cream... More

The hosts at Solvanes were so warm, welcoming and friendly. When they heard it was our wedding anniversary, they made us a special treat of waffles and homeade ice cream. They sat and talked with us at breakfast about what life is like as an icelandic farm family. The room was clean and quiet, and the best part was the secluded... More

Fantastic place to stay about 20km off the ring road but well worth the journey. Our only regret was that we only stayed for one night, we would have loved to stay on longer. A lovely part of Iceland with lots to do in the area. The couple who own this property are extremely friendly and go above and beyond... More

We were a group of hikers travelling together and we stayed here two nights. The accommodation is very nice. The facilities are fine and up to all expectations. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The thing that makes this guesthouse is the lovely family that own and run it. They are friendly, chatty, informative and fantastic...
