Strange..... On arrival we were met by a nice man who explained where all the facilities were. Dale fort had a lovely view although the parking was really tight to get to had to fold in wing mirrors and were left with about a inch each side of the car. However it was very secure. We were shown to our room. Which looked like a hostel it had four single beds and two bunk beds which were put together with random bits of wood. The beds were wobbly and very uncomfortable. The room did have a ensuite though which i was not expecting. There was a family room with a ps2 TV a few games and a pool table. There were tea coffee and juice there and cake in the afternoon which was nice. However you were not allowed to take hot drinks into your room which is annoying when your kids have been awake since 6am breakfast starts at 7.45. It means having to sociallise at that early Morning in the common room. If your anything like Me I'm not very sociable at that time.the food was OK, it reminded me of school dinners basic bland food which is served on a side plate, and its awkward to ask for some more, felt like Oliver... The custard was like water and the same with the gravy. The picnic room was cheese ham jam choco spread and some salad items to put on a sandwich yourself and then some fruit. The good thing is they are environmental friendly and recyle and reuse the bread bags. There are plenty of recycling bins around the grounds. The rocky shore safari was good but my boys 2.&5 were to young really. They havent got much of a attention span and they were just messing around. If they were 7+ they would have enjoyed it more. We did get laminated instructions of the different creatures which is brilliant. There is a bar/shop that's open 7.30pm-9.30pm but you have to drink the item in the bar meaning again for family with smaller children one parent sat in the bar the other watching the kids. It is also not aloud to be taken to the rooms. There is also a drawing room wit pens paper to do colouring in which twe enjoyed. The village of dale has nothing there expect hundreds of wasps trying to eat your sandwiches. We went to go into the cafe but it was cash only which we never carry. Each day we had to travel about a hour to get to places to keep the kids entertained. We stayed for 3days by which time by back was killig and we were all ready to go home. Don't think we will be visiting again.

Our two boys (4 & 5) really enjoyed their Real Family Holiday at the FSC Centre just outside Millport in Kate July. The activities etc were always a great start to the day. The twin ensuite rooms were very comfortable and handily included free WiFi. The only are we can suggest for improvement relates to the meals. The food was all good and tasty but the choices were not always appropriate for young children. Also, with the centre being busy with other parties as well the 45min time slots - especially 5-5:45pm for dinner were not always convenient / ideal. Will definitely be attending a Real Family Holiday again.

Fantastic location for an organised outdoor family holiday. Food is good, standard of accommodation is excellent. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Beautiful setting on coast looking out onto the Firth of Clyde, wildlife in abundance. Best suited to children 6 to 14yrs. Some building work which will soon be finished, this will further improve the centre. Easily accessed by public transport. Excellent value for money.
