Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

2nd time we have stayed with Cathy and Paul, and yet again they couldn't do enough for us. Location, food and rooms are excellent but its the fact they are amazing hosts, so warm and friendly makes the stay relaxing and enjoyable. 100% recommend

Lets see… Spacious room? Check. Large common space for your use? Check. Friendly accommodating hosts? Check. Plentiful and varied delicious breakfast? Check. Walk to a pub? Check. Only down side is the restaurant choices in town are slim. We wish we could have slept in accommodations this nice every night.

A little piece of heaven in rural Bunclody. Very stylish house with three fab rooms, we took over the lot. Our hosts were just lovely & the breakfasts were fab, including my husband’s vegan choice. We’ll definitely be back as it’s such a great base for visiting this beautiful part of Ireland.

Bunclody, Ireland might not be a tourist mecca but of all the places we visited on our six-day driving trip around Ireland - our favourite breakfast and Guiness/pub experience was in this quaint little town! We only stayed one night on our travels between Dublin and Tipperary/Cork and Cathy and Paul’s B&B is set on a hill with a beautiful view off rolling hills opposite. See attached photo for one of three breakfast options Cathy offered. It was so delicious! Most of it was local, the eggs, the honey from the carpenter, jam from the hairdresser… does it get any better!? Paul roasts and brews his own homemade coffee (we had a sneak peek of the process, with my husband a recently converted coffee enthusiast - he now is inspired) and I enjoyed it black (which is rare). It just added to experience. Cathy recommended we visit the Redmond pub, which is a few minutes walk from the B&B, and after dinner in town to make sure we get a 99 ice cream. Yum! If you have time for a stroll go for a walk in the stunning golf club, very scenic. The pub was full of friendly locals and the Guinness tasted better there than anywhere else! Thanks for having us Cathy, Paul & Bunclody!

Would we stay here again...yes. We were hesitant staying here as they seemed to be very new to the industry. Truth be told, we had a plan B just in case. To start with do not follow Google for directions as they are in a small town and Google decided to take us on every narrow back country road possible. There is no sign on the road so we actually drove past it and when we got there, we were still not sure. Once we arrived, Cathy (the owner) immediately greeted us at the door and checked us in. She offered us some scones and coffee, which were great. The room has a nice big window and the shower was great with amazing water pressure. The rooms don't have great sound proofing, so you can hear the dining room, kitchen, hairdryers, TVs, etc. Breakfast was included with some options to choose from, all food freshly made for you with coffee, orange juice and fruit salad. That being said, I would stay there again and would recommend them for a relaxing country getaway. Thanks for a great stay!

Room Tip: Follow the highways into the town as Google maps tends to take one on the narrow country roads.
