Darren, we are very happy that we exceeded your expectations on your stopover. You stayed on Thursday night and we (the locals) were still talking about your visit on Sunday and how much we enjoyed meeting you both. They say you get back what you're prepared to put in and you truly enriched the experience of the community volunteers who...

Three of us stayed here on Offa's Dyke Trail. Contacts with the volunteer staff who run it had been good in the run-up and we were met and shown our rooms by a charming lady. We had no choice of day so it was slightly unfortunate that the inn was closed on Mondays. This turned out to be a blessing...

Thank you for your review. We're so glad that you took this slight deviation from the Offa's Dyke Trail and appreciated the warmth and hospitality on offer at The Raven Inn Community Run Pub. We're equally pleased that you found the Community Shop had all that you needed to restore your energy and set you up for the next day's...

We came across the Raven Inn on booking.com, while looking for a reasonably priced, dog friendly place with car parking, self catering facilities and good hikes and a pub nearby. This place totally met our requirements. The location is in a lovely small village overlooking a church and graveyard. There is a small shop nearby. The surrounding area has stunning...

Thank you, you have eloquently described our hospitality offering probably better than we could have done. And of course it carries more weight as you have the objectivity of someone not involved in the enterprise. Just two little additions would be that we open at 5:00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays too, but not serving food on those nights. The mobile...

This local community (many staff are volunteers) run pub is just so welcoming and the food/drink there is amazing. We've been many times. This time we had some friends over from the Cal in the USA and they stayed at the Raven overnight. Upon arrival they felt so welcomed plus the rooms are to a high standard. Everything was perfect...

We're delighted that your Californian friends enjoyed their stay and The Raven hospitality. I believe that they were introduced by the volunteer barmaid to Real Ale British style and found it to be most palatable. Its true to say that their Royal Highnesses used room one for a comfort break last July but they didn't actually stay overnight, maybe next...

What a great spot and such friendly volunteer staff. Dog also made particularly welcome. So unusual to be in a community pub run by volunteers. Everybody at the bar was friendly and happy to share information about their village. No breakfasts but plenty of facilities in the room as well as a useful community store a few doors away. Also,...

Glad you enjoyed your welcome and the facilities we offer guests. With our being a community pub you will have noticed a certain pride and ownership amongst the locals you met, many of whom do their stint in helping keep the place open. The Community Shop is well stocked with essentials and goods to help you prepare food on the...

We visited Llarmon recently for the NGS Open Garden scheme but arrived a day late. Fortunately for us the Raven was not overcrowded , the staff were friendly and the Sunday lunch was excellent. We would recommend this local village community run pub for its lovely food.

Sorry you missed the NGS day - the varied gardens on show were all fantastic. Hoping to do it all again in 2018. Glad you enjoyed your Sunday lunch and looking forward to welcoming you again soon.

We have stayed twice when visiting family and will be back. Room is comfy, quite small but has everything you need. Tiny kitchen area works fine and is well equipped. We like being able to sort our own breakfast at a time that suits us. The pub is run by the village community and is very friendly with nice beers...

Lovely to have you stay with us and really pleased that our accommodation offering fits the bill. Dogs with well-behaved owners are always welcome in the Raven. There are lots of local walks, and many are described in a booklet available from the community run village shop.

Our friends who where up from Devon and staying at the Raven rooms, had complemented on how good the food was in the restaurant, so it was decided after a little tour around Ruthin, we made our way to the Raven, food was ordered and I have to say I was not expecting the high standard of food to come...

We just moved to the village took my parents and sons ages 2 and 4 for a few hours, it certainly was the best decision we've made on a bank holiday!
