Pros: Nice spot with good views over the city from the roof terrace. Restaurant is good and not too expensive Cons: Wifi is very weak all over the hotel (not necessarily a problem for everyone) Also when we returned from dinner out one evening (at about 10pm) the night guard had locked everything up but then gone for a break. We had to wait for an hour outside with other guests - until eventually disturbed neighbours managed to get hold of his phone number and make him come back to let us in. Very annoying and left quite a bad impression unfortunately. When we mentioned it to the owner she rolled her eyes (presumably this was not the first time) but didn't seem hugely bothered.

I have stayed at Guancascos on 3 separate occasions and it never disappoints. The grounds are fabulous and take you away from the dusty roads and bumpy streets of Lempira. Rooms are clean and hammocks outside the rooms make it a great place to lounge around and enjoy the weather, birds singing and tropical atmosphere. The food is great as well as the service. Highly recommend and I will be back.

We stayed one night in Guancascos hotel in January 2017. The rooms are nice and clean and the green surroundings create a good atmosphere to kick back and relax in a hammock. The staff was friendly and the breakfast is good and is served with a nice view of the town. The granola yogurt is recommended, particularly if you've reached the limit and can't squeeze down more traditional Honduran breakfast.

Stayed a week with a group of Habitat for Humanity volunteers at this hotel. The gardens on the grounds are well kept and provide a beautiful environment. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. I did from time to time smell sewage in the bathroom, but keeping windows open and air flowing rectified the situation. (Not serious, but enough to mention). Restaurant provided great meals and the staff was very accommodating. The restaurant area overlooked the city and the surrounding mountains. Quite nice!

At first we felt the price was a bit high, however our group had a great time relaxing on the deck with the beautiful views and excellent hot chocolate. We also appreciated the private parking space for our rental car, as well as breakfast being included. The rooms are very comfortable with a private hammock hanging outside the front. Beautiful place and ended up being worth it for sure.
