Rana is really an exceptional homestay. It was for us a 48 hours lasting 100% experience. It was much more than just a bed and a meal. We learnt a lot abour living in this village and in Cambodia through the many contacts we had. The hosts really wanted us to feel their country with its horrible past but also...

I stayed at Rana Homestay about 5 years ago, and at the time they still accepted one night stays, although I opted to stay for 2 nights. I have mixed feelings about the place. The place is run by Kim, a lovely and super hard working Cambodian woman, married to Don, a very rude American... In spite of that, I...

We had only spent 2 days in Cambodia when we visited Rana Homestay. It was possibly the best way to do so. While the accommodation is simple it is very clean and tidy. Kheang is an absolute gem. She works so incredibly hard all day long as a mother, a wife and an English teacher to the local children and...

We stayed with our children in July. Unfortunately my son and I had a stomach bug en route and so we're not fully able to appreciate Kheang's excellent cooking until day 2. The accommodation is basic with no electricity or running water however the hut is still comfortable with ventilation to help with the heat. Don and Kheang were welcoming...

We spent 2 nights at Rana Homestay, a short trip from Kratie - it was the best part of our holiday! You'll get the chance to explore the life of Kampong Cham countryside, taking daily tours walking arround the village or by bike. For more background information on Cambodias history you can talk to the owners mother who survived the...

We stayed at Rana's with our parents for two days as that's their preffered length of stay. They don't accept just one day trip. From all our travels this was the most informative and memorable days so far. When we arrived we were welcomed by Don (our host) and Khean (the owner of the homestay and host), we were shown...

Rana Homestay is the only true homestay we stayed in in Cambodia, despite staying at a number of other places that used the word 'homestay' in their title. When you stay at Rana Homestay you are staying with people in their own home ( albeit in your own separate cabin) and you are given the opportunity to see an unsanitized...

We had great two days with Kheang and Don. We count it as one of the best experiences we had in Cambodia. Kheang is not only an amazing chef she is also great guide and interpreter. They both gave us an insight of the Cambodian culture which we haven't had before. Please keep up with the great work you are...

We stayed in March 2015. It was a relaxed and informative stay, we left feeling that we had a much better understanding of what life is like for a rural community and the challenges that face this amazing country. We felt very priviledged that peoples lives were shared with us in such an open way. Kheang is such a respected...

We loved our time at Rana - absolutely loved every minute of it. Kheang is an amazing host and she ensures that everything is as perfect as can be. Life is slow here and its not for someone who has to "do" something all day. You spend your time going around the villages on foot or on bike and talking...
