Just back from a four night stay at SBH Taro Beach and here is my review. We had a double sea view room and although the room was basic (but comfortable) the view of the beach and sea was perfect. The room was attended to each day but I do not think we had fresh towels each day. This was an issue as we had put the towels on certain hooks so we knew who’s was who’s but each day they were folded up and put somewhere else, as they were still damp we assumed they were the originals.......this was very unhygienic as we didn’t know which was which. There was no mirror near the plug in the room for applying makeup or doing hair, we just had to use the steamed up bathroom 🤷‍♀️. The tv was all German stations. The food was very good and we enjoyed each meal we had, the issue was that food or snacks were never available outside of meal times, strange for an all inclusive hotel. Coffee was only available in the restaurant at breakfast, if you wanted a cup at any other mealtime you had to go to the pool or main bar afterwards 🤷‍♀️. The entertainment that we saw was poor and seemed to be geared towards the German visitors, actually the whole hotel was German biased. The majority of staff did not interact with their guests; seemingly unfriendly, with the exception of the lady in the gift shop and the smiley bartender who did the tricks. The beach, view and food were the positives, the staff and snack availability are the negatives.

Why is possible that a coackroach appears near of the food in the restaurant, have no maintenance? because was clean... the food, better in the dinner and lunch, than in bkfast: very basic meats, the cheapest of the supermarket! and without basics like tuna, salmon, seeds or churros. Bed should be more new, not with old docks, aswell the pillow, because is the typical of a hostal, not of a 4*hotel. The best of the room is the terrace, with grass nice size, fridge is small, wifi expensive! thanks.

Dear JChotelJC, We would like to inform you that we really appreciate the time which you took to write us your impressions concerning your holiday in our hotel SBH Taro Beach. However, we are disappointed to read that we did not completely fulfil your expectations and you can be assured that we will investigate the areas of concern that you mention in your review. Due to the favourable warm climate, cockroaches are a common species in the Canary Islands. Although we do our utmost to keep our hotel spotlessly clean, it sometimes can be difficult to entirely get rid of insects in an open building structure like our hotel has. We regularly fumigate all areas in order to prevent them from appearing. We can assure you that our chefs prepare a variety and quality foods on a daily basis. As we cater for a wide range of nationalities and so we offer an international menu and a wide range of choice between fresh fish and meats, daily soups and vegetables, salads etc. On Wednesday we offer more regional food where our guests can taste the typical Spanish food. Furthermore we give our guests the option to make a reservation once a week in one of our theme restaurants. In recent months, both the rooms and the rest of the areas have been improved. All rooms are now equipped with down comforters. We also regret to read that the price of the Wifi did not meet your expectations. We can assure you that these correspond to other equivalent hotels. We can also inform you that now we offer free wifi reception in the lobby area. The head waitress chara is the most unfriendly, unsympathetic, rudest person I have ever come across. She speaks to you like something of the back of your shoe. We have a little girl, 17months who cannot use a knife or fork yet, and food does go on the floor at times. Chara came over to me so abruptly in a busy restaurant shouting at me to clear it up. Our dinner wasn’t even over at this point. She made me feel embarrassed. After she had shouted at me she wouldn’t even let me speak to an English speaking member of staff to help me figure out what she was saying. She tried to explain her self by saying that she is Spanish and that’s just how they speak. It’s our 1st day of holiday and she had well and truly put the worst dampener on it. I can’t believe she is allowed to work in a restaurant.

Stayed here last week in November. Hotel is right on the beach with some great views. Everywhere around the hotel was kept nice and clean with the room cleaned daily. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Great food with plenty to choose from along with a very well stock bar. All in all a great hotel that we felt very relaxed in.

We stayed for 1 week, superfriendly staf, excellent food real value for money, rooms were good, bit aged but the daily cleaning staff keeps it nice and clean. The hotel has a beach with beach bar, we loved the stay !
