Been coming to kardamena for 20 years , we were here in June this year and stayed at the classic , decided to book a week in September found a cheap deal staying at this hotel , yes it's basic , but all hotels are in Greece, its a lovely clean hotel , it said there were hairdryers in rooms , but wasn't one I went to ask at reception and the lovely lady gave me one I didn't have to hire it like in other hotels, we cooked breakfast in the room a few times , and ate on the balcony, we will definitely stay here again for a week , but would like a room with a better view

Apartment- very basic, self catering, there is a kettle and 1 hob electric stove. No toaster no microwave etc the things you usually get for self catering. Table and 4 chairs but very small in small area if in the 2 bed apartment, we never sat round it because we never ate in the room. Shower is very small and could do with a revamp. We never got our bedding changed in 7 nights we was there we just had one very thin single sheet. When it does drop a bit chilly could do with more I used a beach towel. We got our bin emptied and new toilet roll every day but it wasn't cleaned. Do not get put in a room at the side or above the bar thankfully we only had one night which was bad till 6 in the morning as it's 24 hours. Aircon is 10 euros per day and 35 euros for a safe the Aircon is only in the main bedroom. Pool area is good with a nice pool. Never was a struggle getting a sun lounger although alot are broken but still got one. Snack bar is good not shy with the portions. Staff are nice and polite. It is a great location with the centre a 5 minute walk and a good supermarket 2 minute walk. Regardless of the room we had a great holiday.

The location of the hotel is good as it is only a short stroll to the beach, restaurants and bars. Unfortunately it is next to a derelict looking empty pool and a rough unkempt apartment block. The pool area could be nice but there are not many beds and most of them are broken and very uncomfortable. Luckily the beach is close by to go to which we did after the first day. The room is clean but could do with a revamp. There’s plenty of hot water but the bathroom has a shower curtain which isn’t very nice. The bed was ok. The curtains are not black out and the curtain pole fell off the wall lots of times. The air conditioning unit worked very well though as only one unit does not reach the kitchen etc. The reception area had a bar but we didn’t use it. The staff were ok. Basic check in and pointed in the direction of room. No information about hotel given and no information in the room. This room is ok for a base to sleep in but I wouldn’t cook in it and wouldn’t stay round the pool. I think a 2star rating is about right. It could be a lot better with some TLC. So overall we had a nice holiday but wouldn’t stay here again unless there were major renovation and the pool was bought up to a better standard.

We stayed at this hotel for a few weeks in August this year and were very happy that we made the decision to. Upon arrival, the staff were very accommodating. Petros helped us with our bags to our room and showed us around. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows. We slept well and peacefully night, with no unwanted noise at any point waking us up. The bathroom was newly renovated. We had self catering facilities as well as a fridge to store water and food. The cleaners and housekeeping always did a great job of cleaning our room, and they were very friendly. The pool of the hotel has a great atmosphere, was usually busy and had a good food and drink menu. The bar in the hotel is always accessible which is great if you just want to go relax at the hotel or have a drink when you get back. Throughout our stay, if at any point we needed information or any kind of assistance, the staff of the hotel went above and beyond to help us out. On the last day of our stay, we were having trouble with booking a taxi to the airport, and Petros went out of his way to drive us there. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would return.

Stayed here for the 4th time, and again we had a brilliant time.! The hotel provides everything you need if you are going on holiday to have a good time around and about the island and its in walking distance of the centre and port of Kardamena. The rooms are basic but always clean and even have a small kitchen with a fridge etc. The pool is a nice place where you can relax and also get a drink and something to eat. And if your someone who likes to have a drink during the night the bar is open 24/7.

We came here in July 2023 for a 2 week family holiday and can honestly say this family run hotel didn't disappoint. Such a lovely family. Very friendly and helpful and never without a smile. Loved the pool area as it was very spacious and clean. There was always refreshments and snacks available. Rooms were very clean and beds very comfy too with decent pillows and covers. Had a bbq evening there which was a nice touch and the good was cooked to a great standard too. Would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area

I have been coming to Kardamena for 3 years now and decided to stay at the Elga hotel this year. The rooms are very clean and spacious with everything you could need. The staff were amazing!… They were very polite and welcoming and if you had any problems they would be there to help. The location of the hotel is brilliant as it is only a few minutes walk to the main square and beach. It also has a swimming pool with a bar where you could buy drinks and food for a reasonable price… the cocktails wow!! I have booked again already to be back here next year!!

Stayed here with my husband for a week on 1st appearance it looks basic but ok, however on the 2nd day after our room had been cleaned (I use that term loosely but I will move on to that!) I noticed some underwear had gone missing, and have since discovered one of my bikini’s has also been STOLEN!!!! The beds are so hard we woke in pain every day, cleaning is poor they empty the bins and fold up your bed sheet, we only had towels and bedding changed once in the week which is disgusting! The rooms were dusty so be careful putting your clothes in drawers. The pool was not the best looks run down and drinks are expensive, we went to beach for most of our stay. I would not recommend a stay here or keep all your clothes and other valuables locked away.

Response from Petros chatzipavlis, Ιδιοκτήτης at Elga Hotel
Responded 27 Aug 2023
Hello and thank you for your time to write a review We are taking very serious action for thinks like that but we have not experience any stolen items with the cleaners that they are working with us the past years. The clean team of Elga are 3 very honest people and if we had any small idea that they are stilling they would't work at this Hotel.. Elga is a family business hotel which runs more than 30 years now. We have the experience to know well the staff who works for us! It is my first time after been here 30 years that a woman says that her bikinis and her underwear has been stolen. You could come to the receprion and ask the staff or the owner if we collected any underwears from the garden that maybe they fall off your balcony or the cleaners could pick them up by accident wile changing your sheets. You are using the word stolen by the time they was missing and could be or downstairs at the washing area or at the area where we collect clothes, room towels, or beach towels, where they are falling down from the balconys usualy because of the wind.. About the pool a lot of the regulars costumers who are staying with us they informed us that we have the nicest pool. But that is your opinion and it is accepted!
