Arrived back after 1 week at the Macedonia with my partner and 2 year old. Hotel was fine nice and clean. Location was excellent; 5 mins from both strip and beach; supermarket 3 mins away. Check in was fine no issues at all. Bar was excellent all the staff very polite. Food and beer very reasonable prices. Will be looking to be back next year. Loved being so close to airport, little one loved watching the planes come over. Pool was nice, baby pool was a bonus for us as well. Very enjoyable stay at the Macedonia. Thank you!

Not a terrible hotel, but we love Greece because of the people and their wonderful hospitality. Alas this was not that evident here, which is a shame. That plus the pool being a bit grubby is the reason for my 3 stars. There was debris in some of the drainage channels of the pool, which as it is so small, wouldn’t have taken much to clean. The bar was ok, and the food was actually very good. As for the room, it was ok, although our block was road facing and we were on the ground floor, so not much to see! The bed was comfy although the aircon was only in the bedroom, so sleeping on the sofa bed was impossible. Location wise it was good, I was often sent back from the beach by my wife or son when they had forgotten something, and it didn’t take long. They are very good at directing me while on holiday so the close proximity to the beach was a godsend. Even closer in the other direction was the start of the strip (closer to Laganas), where just beyond is the airport runway, which we all enjoyed being so close. It is quiet a walk to the other end of the resort and the roads don’t run parallel, so what looks close, isn’t necessarily. So in summary, not a very good hotel, saved mainly by its location.

Check in was easy and room was ready when we arrived. We had room 118 no view of anything as kind of almost at road level a shame really as balcony was huge.Room was fairly clean though kitchen cupboards had a musty smell as did all the crockery? Air conditioning unit is in the bedroom so lounge area got very warm so we had to put the mattress on the floor in our room for our son to sleep on. Room ‘cleaned’ every other day and towels changed then too.Pool was ok. Bar staff not hugely friendly all bar one young man who served us a couple of times In the early afternoon. I did contact the hotel before we left to ask for some help to source a birthday cake for my Husbands 50th Birthday, I received a curt reply ‘there is a bakery in Kalamaki’! We have stayed in other hotels for birthdays and they have gone out of their way to make the day special no such attention here. This theme continued ,we have never stayed in a Greek hotel where the staff were so miserable ! The positives for this hotel, there are a couple, location of the beach, just a five minute walk, and the double bed was the most comfortable one we have had in any hotel in Greece. Would we stay here again no, we would return to Kalamaki though.

Me and my family regularly spend holidays in Greece for more than 20 years. It was our 10th stay at Zakynthos island, but we have never experienced such a rude staff before. Passively aggressive unwilling superior behavior from each staff member starting with receptionist and ending with manager. Extra fees for everything. Cleaning ladies working more like security guards, checking your room rather than cleaning it (taking out the trash every second day in country, where you can’t flush used toilet paper is pretty disgusting). Yes, this hotel is maybe cheap and your stay is not about the staff, but it is almost impossible to have a smooth holiday in here, so you can't avoid dealing with them. In conclusion, I am not recommending this hotel to anybody. The owner should be less greedy and rather take care of his hotel and employees.

Our room wasn't ready upon arrival which wasnt an issue. When checking back we were told our room was double booked and would we mind staying in staff accommodation-at this point I was so hot and tired, I wanted a shower and to lay down so agreed. Not very impressed with the room but was assured by the very nice man from reception that we would get an upgrade on our original room the next day. The next morning we were shown to a beautiful (huge) room and I was more than happy. We were top floor facing the pool (D block I think) The view from the balcony was great. The room was clean and more than suitable for our needs. The shower was great - very powerful. Air con wasn't amazing but satisfactory. All staff were friendly. They booked us taxis as we needed them. Room and hotel was kept clean. Short walk to the beach. Nice food available at the pool bar restaurant. Yes you are (extremely) close to the airport and you will definitely see/hear planes taking off, but not during the night. Supermarket at the top of road, which leads to the main Kalamaki road. We loved staying here and would stay again.
