Very friendly host with a really comfortable stay with the wilderness. Dogs that want to be your friend the minute you get off your car, cows that moo at you and big land to walk around in the morning. Big pond filled with gold fish. The rooms are very well kept and got what you need and more. Freshly baked...

Very nice and friendly hosts. Quiete far from the city, but wonderful peaceful place. Nice dogs. Pure nature around the place. Nice room, with kitchen at the spacious, sheltered deck. Homemade Bread, fresh fruits, fresh milk from the farm and eggs from "happy" hens. We would have liked to stay longer and walk around the farm. When you know the...

We spent two days with our daughter at this wonderful place. Laura fell straight away in love with the four dogs and with Hugh :-) and was terribly sad the day we had to return to Auckland. My husband and I indulged into the relaxing atmosphere and the marvelous nature of Tangowahine Farm. Just imagine, we had a walk on...

I stumbled upon this farm when looking for accommodation on the West Coast of the North Island. I intended to stay somewhere on the coast but when I saw the website I just thought what an opportunity to experience something different from the usual NZ activities. It turned out to be a great few days. The farm is situated approx....

Thank you for your review of us, The covered outdoor kitchen you refer to is proving very successful with couples wanting to be self sufficient , the weather is kind enough to allow its use all year around. It also allows those who fish and hunt to prepare their catch without making the main room uninhabitable for the rest of...

My husband and I spent ten days at Tangowahine Farm in May this year and have rated it one of our best holiday experiences. We chose Tangowahine Farm in particular in order to achieve much needed rest and relaxation in a rural retreat. Our hosts, Hugh and Pauline, not only made us feel welcome but went out of their way...

We had a really lovely stay at Tangowahine Farm and would definitely return. From the moment we arrived Hugh made us feel welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed (he even brought in our washing when it rained while we were out!). Both of our sons (aged 4.5yrs and 15mths) loved Hugh, and the farmstay was the highlight...

Tangowahine offers a brilliant blend of being both a romantic space for couples as well as the great kiwi experience. We loved the authentic experience (this being a real working farm) and appreciated the honesty of the farm experience (Hugh was open about where the animals were going - the dinner table). It offers an experience that was closer to...

Thank you very much for your kind comments that are so appreciated, Our lives are very different from those who live in the city but I do not try to not pull the wool over peoples eyes because people who holiday here are far from stupid. The important thing for us is sustainability and to ensure that when our custodianship...
