Everything about our stay was perfect. Thew staff was most accommodating, the rooms perfect in a castle-like setting. Breakfast on the private terrace was a spectacular way to start each day. Multi-course dinners were the highest quality available in this sleepy Calabrian village (not sleepy in the height of the beach season, I suspect). Truly a 5 Star experience that...

We really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Hotel Le Clarisse. The views are amazing. We loved having breakfast on the terrace. There are only 4/5 rooms in the hotel so we often felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. We liked being in a quiet venue, just a few minutes from the beach, shops and piazzas. Our...

A fabulous place to stay. The rooms are magnificent, ours had 2 bathrooms. The views are incredible, from the rooms as well as all the terraces. The owners are gracious and the Lady Nalda is a singer. Dressing for dinner is fun and the foods prepared and wines presented are out of this world. Local wines and produce, cooked to...

Hotel Ristorante Le Clarisse in Amantea Nord, is a beautiful former church and cloister, that sits atop a hillside rock outcropping with commanding views of the lush city park below, the new town and the endless sea.  The interior can accommodate mega weddings--the rooms go in forever.  We slept in the spartan yet, amazingly spacious cell a rich nun, Suor...

I've never been treated with such kindness anywhere I have traveled. Danilo made sure to take care of my every need from a late dinner off the menu at no charge to a luxury breakfast for one when there were no other guests. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The decor is also unique, beautiful views, great location, and...

This is a wonderful old building converted into a hotel and restaurant/function venue. Everything about it is classy. The staff are fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had dinner twice on the terrace, overlooking the sunset and Stromboli in the distance. The food was exceptional and wines delicious, all reasonably priced. The rooms are very spacious...

Absolutely everything is excellent - but the history and beauty which surround you take it to a higher level. In the UK it would probably be called a boutique hotel. We chilled out on the sandy, unspoilt beach, met up with my family living locally, took brief trips to Cosenza, Paola and Reggio and went up into the picturesque, verdant...

Perfect for everyone with lots of space, good food for dinner, comfortable beds, lovely complimentary breakfast on the stunning terrace. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a landscape of rare beauty, situated at the top of a Cliff once, lapped by the waves of the sea, lies "Le Clarisse" palace. The building was former a monastery for nuns built in 1620 which now conserves important works of art including an Arabic funerle stele from 11th century and a wooden statue from 17th depicting S. Chiara. The architectural structure of the building follows the profile of the rocky spur on which the bulk of the church, the old convent and cloister rests, with an expansive panoramic view of the coastline. Thanks to the dedicated and laborious restoration, the building today, known as Palazzo delle Clarisse, has regained its old convent atmosphere. ... more   less
