This place blew us away! We stayed in Birchen Edge room which was perfect as we could take our dog out first/last thing, and the French doors into the garden added extra light and views. This room was STUNNING!! The photos don’t do it justice. Things I loved that I didn’t even know I needed in a room! Speakers in the ceilings and bathroom, mood lighting, complimentary beer and soft drinks, plus cake, fresh milk and water in the fridge. Beautifully decorated, and everything was spotless. We felt so relaxed. Due to Covid restrictions, we had breakfast in our room. This was brilliantly done and better for us with the dog. A very thorough menu, and the food was beautiful. The hot food coming up a little later giving you chance to eat anything continental. No expense spared here... the teapots, cutlery, bedding, cushions, curtains. Top marks all round. Great area for dog walking, and the neighbouring pub Robin Hood Inn was very dog friendly. We ate there twice. Bakewell and Chatsworth both recommended. You should be proud of the place you have here. It’s simply stunning. X

Property's Favourite Review
I work for Pets Pyjamas and always recommend this hotel, so i decided to try it out myself with my two dogs and i have to say it exceeded expectations! Self check in very easy, we walked past home baked cakes with a sign 'help yourself' and we found a beautiful room with welcome dog chews, dog blanket and dog bowls. Our room was 'Birchin Edge' with our own private garden overlooking the woodland. It did have steps to the rest of their gardens so we blocked it off with the chairs on our wooden decked terrace. This worked fine so we didn't have escapees! It is right next door the a lovely dog friendly pub and within ten minutes drive to Bakewell and around 8 other dog friendly pubs! We went to Chatsworth house which was 8 minutes drive, with stunning gardens to walk around (we spent 3 hours walking around). There are fantastic walks right next to the hotel with a rocky footpath up to hours of hiking trails, as well as fields to let the dogs run loose. Breakfast was pre-ordered each morning with gluten free options. It was delivered to our door each morning at our specified times.. I loved their home baked Croissant starter followed by a full English breakfast - Carolines cooking is just amazing! We enjoyed her home baked cakes and chocolate brownies a little too much but all the walking we did we felt we worked them off! Will continue to recommend 10/10 and lovely hosts Chris and Caroline - a massive thank you, we just loved it.

Our daughter and partner visited a while ago and recommended this dog and good quality recommended B&B. The breakfast here is perfect. Lots of choice, great quality ingredients and cooked to order. Breakfast was in our room which we were a little bit concerned about but it worked really well. Add in the invitation to “help yourself “ to homemade cake, an in room fridge with fresh milk and chilled water and any variety of tea or coffee this is a v relaxing place. Guests enter the property by a guest entrance. We had the Birchen Room with patio doors to the garden, perfect with a dog or perfect if you fancy breakfast outside. A wet room with a choice to have TV audio in there or not and a night light, which is v handy and not intrusive. The bedroom itself has TV and a selection of lighting options. Conveniently located. Highly recommended.
