Walking into the bar, we had high hopes for an evening of good food in a nice atmosphere but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. Although there is a good range of wines and spirits on offer, the food was overcooked and bland. Service was inattentive and when we brought these issues to the attention of other staff,...

Stayed here for the night as its a dog friendly hotel and great base to explore the area. Room was ok (think we got a slightly worse room since we had the dog, didn't look anything like the photos) also it looked out onto the back of the kitchen which got very noisy and the air vents were pretty loud(room8)...

My partner and I have just returned from a three night stay here visiting from Norfolk celebrating our anniversary. We stayed here as a good base from where we could explore the Peak District and it definitely did the job. Firstly, on arrival (as I had told them in advance that it was our anniversary), they had upgraded our room...

I booked to come to the Devonshire Arms for a treat for my husbands birthday. I didnt know anything about it, but knew of the area and hoped i would have chosen well. I did. From the minute we entered the building we were greeted by a young man, Alex, the most helpful and friendly person you could wish to...

The service was reasonable, but the food was a real disappointment. There was little flavour & it was overpriced. Much better food & value for money at other pub restaurants in the local area. Also, surprising that the actual menu didn't match the online menu we'd viewed prior to the visit. The staff taking our table booking were aware of...

From the outside the Devonshire Arms looks very warm and welcoming and the bar and restaurant area certainly is that. Was greeted by a lovely lady who showed me to my room. The room was small but cosy and perfect for one person. It was beautifully decorated and had everything I needed. Fab shower and fluffy towels. Worth the last...

We stayed here for 2 nights last week. The welcome we received was very warm and friendly and set the standard for what turned out to be a fantastic stay. Our room was warm, spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed plus a few nice extra touches. Breakfast on both mornings was plentiful and delicious with great service. I...

We arrived at this establishment at 5.30pm after a day out celebrating our young son’s birthday and wished to end the day with a lovely family meal. The waiting staff who greeted us informed us we would have to be finished by 7pm but we didn’t think that presented a problem as we were only intending to have one course...

Easy to reach location. Great hospitality excellent value for money. Clean, warm and friendly. We came as a couple in need of a night away and this hit the spot it is located near some beautiful sights. The staff were very welcoming and we could not have asked for more. Beds were comfortable, shower was hot.

We have both dined and drank here on many occasions But it has changed but no for the better (shame) It used to be very good and if the management looked at the reviews they seem to be of similar comments so i would have thought they may have taken this on board !! Our last two visits we noticed...
