Just out of lockdown and they are offering a fantastic book able service, offered a terrace drink before being seated at our table in the sun overlooking the grounds. Staff very pleasant, as ever, food prepared fresh and in sight on the terrace. Wonderful way to exit lockdown, happy that it is a successful opportunity for them. Not cheap but the view, quiet and quality is priceless. £115 for 2 for lunch.

We walked from the local campsite at 5pm on a sunny evening but were refused a drink - “We only serve drinks with food”, even though most tables on the patio were vacant. Do these businesses want customers? Especially in these difficult times.

Thankyou for your comments, I believe it was actually myself with whom you spoke. My recollection of the conversation differs in as much that at the time we were unable to offer you a table as we were holding tables pending the arrival of guests who had booked at our Champagne and Seafood tent to dine. Whilst a limited number of tables on the terrace may have appeared to be free, our bookings, due to arrive imminently, required those tables. I did apologise at the time and do so again, but bookings already expected to arrive had to take precedence at the time. Kind regards Philip Joseph Philip Joseph

We stayed for 3 nights. The coach house was amazing and felt like value for money. We decided to stay for another night and were so disappointed the standard room was hot, airless, and certainly not worth the £270. The food was generally good but considering the cost a better attention to detail was needed. We got forgotten on one occasion and everything arrived at once. We frequently had to keep asking for the same things, it felt very frustrating. The evening meal was outstanding and couldn’t be faulted. Tea coffee etc in rooms but no herbal available, biscuits only in higher end room. WiFi connection very poor, smart TV in the coach house but not connected and set up. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful. Room service was quick and of a good standard. Beautiful surroundings.

There’s an underlying friendliness about the whole hotel - every member of staff - which creates a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The food and wine are excellent. Lovely walks through the Chatsworth estate. We will return!

The hotel is warm, friendly and inviting Everything was well thought out with regard to Covid and the necessary regulations in place ....food excellent and staff very efficient and considerate . Room devoid of extra ornaments / cushions etc (we have stayed before) and everything was immaculate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon. A real treat.
