Lots of buses and people coming and going. Front desk staff are very efficient during the check-in process. Not sure why they needed to see our passports. The hotel hallways and rooms are a little scuffed up. Our room was in the Aoraki Premium Wing, it was nothing fancy but clean. A/C in our room barely worked. Location is great,...

We rented one of the chalets for 2 days. The cost was $185 USD and that was after a 10% discount from Ultimate Hikes. The chalet had a kitchenette and was close to the main hotel. The room was just OK; nothing special. Certainly not of the same quality as the hotel rooms. It was clean for the most part,...

Struggled a bit with this review. The staff were mostly all excellent, especially the buffet restaurant manager. Sadly do not recall his name. The disappointing part was the state of the hotel overall. I realize this is a large property and quite remote, but the overall upkeep left a lot to be desired. Had the price been lower it would...

Great location for this huge complex, a variety of rooms are available, at differing costs. Having been booked into a standard room with Mount Cook view as part of a bespoke tour of NZ, we were looking forward to our 2 night stay. Having researched availability of food, decided go check in and go to the self service restaurant for...

This is the only hotel at this location. The views are absolutely spectactular and the surrounding countryside beautiful. The hotel itself is interesting architecturally in a very contemporary, ski lodge sort of way. My husband wasn't too well whilst we were there and so we didn't get to discover any amenities, however the room was comfortable and so was the...

The position of this hotel could barely be beaten in NZ. The view from the premium room just stunning. However the room was tired. The fridge empty and was not serviced during our 2 day stay. During our 4 weeks in NZ travelling staying in all kinds of accommodation I think this room decor was one of the worst. The...

A poor hotel which relies on its position. We asked for a second suitcase rack and gave up after along telephone call with reception. They never brought it after promising to do so. Very tired rooms lots of bumps and scratches on the sale. It was a dark room but there was no curtain on landing nearby so the landing...

The Hermitage was included in our self-drive tour package so we didn't know exactly what to expect. What a spectacular location! Our room was nicely furnished, but it was the view that made it all worthwhile. Very expensive food.

Disappointing. The single thing that is not cheap at this hotel is the price. No greet service for luggage - poor welcome and service at check-in. Internet chargeable at a $400 hotel? Really? Room poorly serviced with items missing, fridge empty and turned off. Hotel is a complete maze and poorly laid out. The hotel caters for package tours and...

Due to a number of poor reviews on here I thought this was going to be my first disappointment in New Zealand. I obviously can only go by my own experience, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms on the top floor have unbelievable views of Mount Cook, free wifi and a nespresso machine for some nice coffee. Admittedly the...
