The hotel is located about 10 mins from Arthurs pass village and has a spectacular outlook from the rooms but that is as good as it got. Rooms are very old and run down. We traveled in August 2015 and the night we stayed it got down to -14 with only two basic heaters in the room it was insufficient...

Had a voucher to stay but may has well been full price. The 'Moa Lodge' is very backpakers and quite tacky, a shame as in a great location. The place needs a good overhaul as in the heart of the national park

Situated just before the township, in an incredibly picturesque location. However the room was dated and very cold with only a cheap little fan heater for warmth. No cell coverage, expensive WiFi, crappy TV. Staff were kind and helpful.

We stayed here a night for a twin share. It was cheap and It is very basic, a room with bedding & towel, however it was the bathroom situations that let us down. We were in a room sharing 2 bathrooms with 11 other rooms, each bathroom had only one toilet and shower in each. Not enough for many people!...

Excellent location for getting away from the city to enjoy nature. Room had no hair dryer nor shampoo so make sure you take your own. Also take a torch as it is very dark at night to walk up to the restaurant. The barman is very friendly. Meal was great except my soup came to the table at same time...

If you are looking for luxury, go to the Chateau in Arthur's Pass. If you are after a comfortable, warm, friendly and completely unpretentious place to stay in an absolutely brilliant location, choose the Bealey. Great communication at booking stage and leading up to arrival (helped me to coordinate a bus to/from Christchurch), and again when I arrived. Great advice...

Actually, one and a half rooms wih kitchen, etc. The night sky is incredible,no lights around so the stars are dazzling. The food in the bar/restaurant was delicious and cheap. Try the chicken or steak pies. The owner was so nice an helpful. The atmsphere...

In the middle of nowhere but that’s all part of the charm of it. Check in at the bar upstairs in the main building. We had a huge room with three single beds and one double, good heaters, microwave, kettle, fridge etc. Small balcony with views across the river bed towards the mountains. There is a one legged Kia that...

We had luckily only booked one night here. At first we were blown away by the location and the views. Our reception when we checked in was perfunctory, no word of welcome or explanation, the cabin on the surface looked good. We paid $180 for the night so were surprised by the budget feel of the place. Our cabin would...
