We stopped here for lunch as part of an organised day tour to Arthur's Pass. There is a good selection of food which is served at the café on the upper floor. Views along the gorge from outside the hotel are unbelievable. We were not staying at the hotel.

We stayed only for a night here but it was a beautiful place. If you have stayed in cabins then you’ll love it else it can be a bit bland when it comes to infrastructure and services. Nevertheless, the property is stunning, right on the banks of the Waimakairiri river. It’s a hiker’s paradise and tourist must visit to experience...

For $150 a night we were very disappointed by our 'studio cabin' for 2 people. The furniture reminded me of school furniture, basic desk and chairs. And the bathroom, I haven't seen such low budget and low quality amenities. I hope the photos show what I mean. Kitchen was old and basic with the bare minimum in terms of utensils....

Had just walked the punchbowl falls and were feeling peckish so wanted a quick snack. The prices were ridiculous in Arthurs Pass for snacks so decided to try the Bealey a bit down the road. Pleased we did! There was a large group of internationals having a meal there and many different sorts would walk in and out keeping us...

Unfriendly and rude staff. We rented one of the bungalow, sadly had the worst weather in years in the area so were stranded in the room. No internet and no TV...the area cable was broken but the staff was too ignorant to bring us a new one. Rooms are very dated for the price they charge. Beds were squeaky. Would...

We went to the hotel for dinner saying nearby. The location on Bealey spur is breathtaking. The restaurant itself is a quaint if a little tiered looking. The real disappointment was the food. Dinner cost over $120 for 4 people without drinks or starters. The food was nothing special. The venison pot pie was tasty but with too much pastry....

We only spent a night there, thankfully. The rooms seem to have been a bit updated, but still, the bathrooms are old. What bothered me the most was the fact that there were flies everywhere. I guess the nets on the windows have holes in them, so we ended up with flies everywhere, including a dead one in the sheets....

The weather was against us for our weekend stay here - driving rain mostly. But we did some walks and were glad to return to the cosy chalet to dry out. Even when the power was off one morning, (not hotel's fault), there was still plenty of hot water in the tank. Not everyone has such a good experience judging...

Booked through a rival booking app which offered a room with a shared bathroom. Except it was in a lodge type dorm with loud, swearing individuals in the common area with paper thin walls and tiny beds. Be upfront with your description of the room, because I wouldn't have booked this had I been aware of the real situation. Couldn't...

Stayed one night in room #1. Paid $150 NZ for the night. Spectacular views of the glacial river bed from the large end unit room. 3 single beds and one double. Kitchen with microwave, fridge, water boiler but no cook top. Double bed was very soft. Too soft. Good water pressure and adequate hot water. Small balcony outside of room....
