Had a really enjoyable two night stay here, great location and highly recommend the breakfast, great range of food and some from local suppliers. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Only drawback os the Parkin gyro need to park on street, which is not an issue if you can find a place, thee is no car parking charges for street parking. Overall a great stay and high recommend this hotel and location.
Just had a pleasant night’s stay in La Villa Ouest. We had a garden room which was on the small side, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nice bathroom and good shower. The garden room also has access through its own back door, which is handy for bringing cases in. Great location as the hotel is just off the beach and a couple of minutes walk into town. Good breakfast with plenty of selection and everything nice quality. There’s no parking on site but plenty around the hotel and free in Saint Palais. The staff were friendly. I presume it was family run because it had that person and caring feel.
Stay here and enjoy the Atlantic coast! The room was not great but I give the hotel 4* anyway. - Staff very friendly - Great breakfast buffé - Dry sauna and steam sauna available with a jacuzzi - Location was just great - Go to dinner at "Chez BOB" which has two restaurants and three menus as tip!
We were reccomend this Hotel by a work colleague and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived the staff we met were very friendly and welcoming. Our room, while snug, was scrupulously clean and well furnished. Very comfortable. Attached to the hotel is a saloon-de-the which doubles as the breakfast room. This is a real highlight, very bright and welcoming. The location is great, close to beach and village with all the essentials. Even on a wet and windy December evening there were a couple of eating opportunities. Royan is just up the road if a bigger selection should be required. So, a great stopover location, if staying for longer would suggest booking one of the larger rooms with patios.
Saint PALAIS sur mer, is our favourite venue in this part of France. With daughter living a very rustic life 20km away, tis nice to relax in this classy, peaceful small seaside town. A visit to this charming restaurant, is French and Fabulous.
We booked on the day late afternoon - receptionist was very friendly The room is small but for one night its fine - very clean and just had a revamp so its all new. We did not have breakfast at 12 euros per person is in my opinion to expensive
Only stayed the one night but would have happily stayed longer. Excellent front of house welcome and near perfect stop. Breakfast was excellent and of superb quality. The room was spotless and had all we required.. the ONLY slight negative and it was not a problem.. the bedroom was relatively small. Not so much of a problem as I can honestly say I slept like a log ! The shower was impressively hot too... Definitely would recommend and will stay again. Thank you
We stayed a couple of nights, for one of us re-visiting St Palais where we last stayed in 1960. The town is still recognisable and has retained much of its charm, including its fabulous beach. It's busier! We thought Villa Ouest was an ideal place in which to stay - it's close to everything, without being hemmed in by it. We had very friendly welcome and we found the staff exceptionally pleasant; English is spoken but you're allowed to try out your French too. We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel - we suspect those at the front, overlooking the road, could be noisier. The room itself was very small, though to be fair the size was made clear at the time of booking. It was very clean, and the bed extremely comfortable. It was also air conditioned. The breakfasts were fabulous. We loved the ambience of the Villa Ouest, with its blend of the modern and echoes of St Palais in the past. One point to note that if arriving by car it can be difficult to get close to the hotel at busy times of the day, so dropping off luggage can be a challenge. But overall we came away feeling very happy to have stayed at the Villa Ouest.…
We were invited to a wedding in St Palais and managed to arrive half an hour before the civil ceremony was to start. The ladies on the desk quickly were on board, one provided cool bottles of water, the other offered her parking space and a lift to the Hôtel de Ville. It is a beautiful hotel, clean, with a fabulous carpet reminiscent of the sea in communal areas. We had one of the smallest rooms facing the main road which had everything we needed. One word of warning- if you leave the window open rather than use air con , the laundry trolleys rattle very early. It has breakfast and afternoon tea facilities which looked lovely but we didn’t use. The hotel is just round the corner from the beach and an easy walk from the town centre. Our French friends told us the hotel had undergone several identity changes over the year but we can certainly recommend it’s present format. Thank you for a lovely stay.…
All staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Nothing too much trouble. Room (204) well appointed. Prior to the current owner it was the "art hotel" but there were no pictures. The current owner has decorated it and it is amazing .... from the waste pipe below the handbasin in the toilet in the lobby to the marine with axe above the coffee machine. Excellent breakfasts. Hopefully will return. Merci !!
