Didn't stay at the hotel. Food not bad with pretty good menu variety. Rest of the group had no complaints about the food or service and portion sizes are quite generous. I ordered the vegetarian roast - I certainly didn't expect a curry (rice & tikka veg masala) with a Yorkshire on top. No complaints about the actual food. Apparently...

Eight of us stayed here and ate here. What a fantastic place. Staff excellent. Service excellent. Food excellent and value for money excellent. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the whole stay. It is situated well. We parked the car on car park and that's where it stayed all weekend no need to worry.

We enjoyed our lunch here. The menu was interesting. The portions were large - we both left something entirely because of the amount - and had no room for dessert. Did not start serving until noon so we sat and had a quiet glass of wine first.

Stayed here one night on a business trip. The room had an unpleasant smell, quite musty and it was in a state of disrepair in places. For the price, Premier Inn would have been a better option. Fair to say, I won't be rushing back.

Wish we had booked the Priory for £10 more. There were 2 parties on and although we didnt go to bed early they kept us awake. The bathroom was grubby, the breakfast on cold plates and the service only OK. Definitely look around if prices are similar. It is worth paying more

Stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is very centralky located in Hitchin.Good size room with comfortable beds at the back of the hotel. A bit of a problem with the parking as the car park is very small and there are lots of oeople coming for conferences. The breakfast was lovely and 1 night we sampled the golden years menu...

This is the best value around for Sunday Roast for £5.99 if you go after 5pm. Great food with plenty of vegetables and cauliflower cheese too! It's not fine dining but it's a good hearty meal at a brilliant price. Good desserts too. Don't know about any of the other menus as we only go there on Sundays for the...

I stayed for three nights at the Sun in February 2017, my first stay there. I was made welcome from the start. My room was at the back of the hotel and whilst it was a reasonable distance from reception and was on the first floor, this was no chore as the walk took me past exposed beams and a...

Had a meal at the Sun for my son's 18th birthday. Despite being really, really busy the service and food was amazing. The meals were all plentiful, hot and tasty. I've tried other local Greene King pubs/restaurants and the service/food are nowhere near as good as The Sun. Thank you all for a lovely evening. We will be back!!
