Check in was straight forward we stayed in the rooms to the side of the farmhouse. We had a dod room but it smelt of cigarette smoke ,room fresher ears may have disguised this. There was only enough milk for 2 cups of tea and there was no conditioner in bathroom, which needed an overhaul. We ate in restaurant ,my lobster...

I went to the read coat yesterday for afternoon tea. Me and my girl decided we did not want to drive as we both will fancy some glasses of Prosecco so we took a taxi from Letchworth. As we arrive we have been sat in a nice and brigh conservatory in a table next to the window. The lady tood...

Had mum parents 50th anniversary meal at redcoates. About 50 people in the conservatory. It was fantastic. Food was excellent. Staff laid up the room beautifully and took into account all of my parents wishes. Staff were attentive yet discreet and reacted well to any additional requirements or changes on the day. My parents were thrilled with their choice of...

Visiting Stevenage it is easy to become dismayed at the lack of decent hotels. The Novotel, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express don't set the nerves tingling with excitement. Redcoats isn't a gem but it is a good alternative. The atmosphere is old country residence. Not grand but welcoming. The food is good and the bar area is quaint and pleasant....

Dear Craig M, Thank you for your feedback and positive review. We have indeed the old world character and charm that we hope will appeal to some people (some other might prefer the convenience of large brands and that's fine) and hope to become the gem you are looking for in the future! In the meantime, we hope to see...

We dined, rather than stayed, and our experience was. It felt like a real sense of occasion. The conservatory restaurant has a relaxing atomosphere. I had the beef medallions, which were very good - but I believe their menu changes, so worth checking their website. The service was good. I would definitely recommend

Lovely place to stay with great surrounding countryside walks (beware of speeding lorries) but no footpaths so wear hi-viz jackets and boots. Hotel great and very palatial as well as excellent food and staff. Just divine.
