A number of family members had booked in here for a family funeral in the village on a Friday night of what was also half term, and the hotel was quite busy. A few of us had deliberately booked rooms in the annexe wing, which had the benefit of being quiet, although it appeared room sizes varied somewhat. Mine (12,...

Really nice hotel and restaurant. Room and 4 post bed great. So comfortable. Could have done with a bigger mirror and better light in the bathroom. Evening meal and breakfast were really good and service attentive.

Brilliant hotel - friendly, welcoming and very dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere. We stayed the night before the Dover Endurance Life run and they very kindly allowed us to keep on the room until lunchtime so we could come back and shower. Could't have been more helpful.

Pleasant room and helpful staff. Arrived late and was offered a sandwich in my room which I really appreciated. The room was well furnished but with a really small bath and TV. Breakfast was pretty decent but would have benefitted from some nice fresh coffee.

We booked out basically the entire hotel and restaurant for our staff work do (69 people). Our annual Christmas party is always the best party and this was the first year somewhere new, so the hotel had a lot to live up to. The food was the best we had ever had, the atmosphere was intimate and welcoming, the rooms...

Diamond in the rough, what a find.. Will definitely be recommending this place, such an enjoyable 2 night stay. Very dog friendly, food was excellent. Cosy fires, hot spiced cider was delicious , the mussels starter was the best, good selection of wine, and the scrumptious croissants for breakfast. Excellent and welcoming staff. Great location for White cliffs walks. Decor...

Charming hotel, old world but all the modern conveniences, very friendly staff, very comfortable, rooms, excellent bathroom. Good breakfast buffet, good dinner, even if choice a bit limited. Free off street parking.

No complaints! Good roast beef, good service and nice atmosphere. This isn't our first visit when we ate one evening. We'll be visiting again. All the staff are very young, so please be patient if you're expecting silver service!

So - if you're working in Dover and need to stay overnight - don't stay overnight in Dover. Stay here... A handful of well maintained rooms above the bar and restaurant plus another handful in an annexe. Food is pretty good and the menu a bit different with a good range of wine and local beers. Little bit pricey but...
