Staff very friendly, room (bed/sheets, floor) clean BUT (not in order of severity): - strong smell of toxic cleaning stuff (?) - A/C switched on so noisy that you can't keep it running when in room - A/C when running produces stench , moldy smell- could not breath (asthma) - no waste paper basket - no chair (well, one bar stool - but for what?) - no desk (well, there is a surface you could use as desk, if you and a chair, but then there would be no space to put a suitcase) - room had double and single bed-- but no space left to actually walk/turn/place things - fridge so noisy I had to unplug it (next to head end of bed) - when flushing toilet it keeps making loud gargling noises for another 10 min - equally you hear pretty much anyone else in the building flush the toilet - phone did not work - bathroom small- which were ok if sink wasn;t so small that even turning on the water it splashes everywhere - open the curtain and you look out to the back side of the hotel with throw away stuff and garbage - lots of electrical that run along the wall didn't have insulation all the way. - no lounge to speak of (well a few seats but in such small area that if you wanted to meet with someone and have a conversation that not everyone would overhear it would be impossible) I am sure I missed something breakfast was good, simple but good friendly , helpful staff. they were clearly disheartened when I checked out earlier and as I said the room was actually clean-- but those were too many things to put up with. The noisy and smelly A/C was the deal breaker as it affected my breathing 9and would have anyone else's even without Asthma) The city is build and planned in the 50ies- it looks to me that this building must be from that time and got a (poor) lipstick makeover. But, you can't fix poor piping and electrical with just a nice paint job and new flat screens . …
