The word mellow means overly ripe, almost rotten. This is an old hotel in the downtown area and convenient to almost everything. It has a view of the unique architecture of the cathedral. The personnel are to be commended as they are friendly and willing to help in any way they can, but that is the best the hotel can offer. The basic rooms are Spartan at best: gaps under the doors letting outside air and noise in, too small desks, only three single outlets per room. The next size room up the scale: sewer smells in the bathroom; many lights still using yellow dangerous CFLs, the shower/whirlpool shower/bath is extremely difficult to get in and out of and frankly dangerous for older people who may fall and break a hip. In general: the hotel needs a serious renovation as the maintenance has been poor and the interiors are old and uncomfortable. The Internet is slow by modern standards for a hotel.…
Pros: Great location close to the main cathedral, parks and restaurantes, great breakfast Cons: They first put in me in a room with three single beds, not bad. Then after shower I saw two cockroaches coming out of the bathroom and next thing I do in the morning was request to change rooms. Both rooms: no power outlets close to the bed, plus the only standardized outlet was in the bathroom. New room: no switch for the main lights. Had to screw them out to turn them off.
