The Caribbean side and bay side is fantastic for kids. The Atlantic side had lots of seaweed but maybe it depends on the time of the year. I don't know. I saw pictures online when there seemed to be less seaweed. We couldn't swim in the Atlantic side. It was too much seaweed and also smelled a bit. I don't know how the situation is after the hurricane but I heard they only had cosmetic damage and by Feb/ March I am sure it's good to go!

Yes, I don't know how much hurricane damage they had, but when they reopen, I'm sure they will have drinks and chairs set up. They even take you over to the beach and set up sailing or kayaking just for you.
