I don't have enough words for this hotel and his staff. We stayed 9 days with all inclusive and was just perfect for us. Cleanness, food drinks everything was great. All staff very very friendly and polite. Food quality and hygiene at the high standards . Pool and play area for kids wonderfull, beach very clean and in the night the walk around promenade with bar and shop was just what you need after a beautiful dinner. Entertemeint was excelent and very very friendly, every night different shows . Will definitely go back at iberostar group but different location. Thanks again for a great holiday.

Our impression of the Malaga Playa didn’t get off to the best of starts !!! We are a family of three, two adults and our 16 year old daughter. Our daughter got a free child place, we say free, but what they do is bump up the adult prices, so in fact what we actually paid was a couple of hundred pounds less than what we would’ve paid, if we’d just paid for three adults. We arrived at the hotel, which is very impressive, with its fantastic view, looking over the pool area to the beach and then out to sea We waited nearly 40 minutes to check in. There was only two people in front of us, but only one young lady behind the desk We eventually checked in and given our room cards. We made our way to the room allocated. To say it was small, would be an understatement, we would’ve had to climb over my daughter’s ‘put up’ bed to get into ours. It was too small for two people. We were very disappointed, so we went back to the reception. The young lady on reception was very understanding and allowed us to view another room, this too was unacceptable. The next room we viewed was slightly bigger, but had a fabulous balcony overlooking the pool and would cost us another €210 for the duration of our stay. We decided to take it, based on the previous two rooms we had viewed This is my one gripe with this hotel, the rooms are too small for three people, we had to rearrange the furniture in the room to fit the 3rd bed in. We were still clammed in and still had to pay extra because it had a view. Anyway gripe over The hotel itself is lovely, it’s on the beachfront of Torrox Playa, 6km west of Nerja, 45km east of Malaga The hotel is immaculate, with staff constantly cleaning and wiping down surfaces. In these unprecedented times, it was reassuring to see the communal areas constantly being sprayed and hand sanitiser available everywhere Masks had to be worn at all times and this was a rule that was being strictly adhered to, except when you were sat at a table in the restaurant or in the pool area. We stayed on a half board basis, which entitled us to breakfast and evening meal The food is great with loads of options, even for my fussy daughter (her diet consists mainly of chicken, pizza, cake, ice cream and fruit) The standard of the food was excellent, but the staff were fabulous. In these difficult times they are all working harder All food is served to you on a plate, you aren’t allowed to just help yourself at the buffet, but all the staff were lovely, greeting you with a ‘hola’ or a wave every morning and evening. You are all a credit to the hotel and I would like to thank you all for making our holiday I would also like to thank Rosa for making me the perfect omelette every morning and Antonio and Paco for quickly and efficiently removing all the excess plates that would build up on our table. To Pepe who works in the evening bar, you are a gentleman, thanks for looking after us every evening I hope the hotel appreciate what fantastic staff they have !! There is entertainment every evening, it can be a bit hit and miss and can be quite comical. From the very serious looking Flamenco dancers who just seemed to stamp their feet a lot ( bit like being in the same room as a 16 year old for two weeks) or a guy balancing wine bottles on his head We did enjoy the entertainment, even if we laughed when we shouldn’t, but we were chuffed we saw the Arabian Nights show performed by the hotels very own animations team, on our last night there, it was fantástico !! (the flying carpet was very funny and stole the show) Thank you to all the animations team To David, Paula and Antonio for all your energy and enthusiasm. For getting everyone in the pool, the bar and on their balconies dancing every morning It was epic and one of the highlights of the day You are the best animations team we have ever seen Thank you for making our holiday memorable xx So, would we stay here again Yes, of course we would The hotel is great The location is lovely The weather was beautiful But the staff are amazing Take a bow Iberostar Malaga Playa

Liked · First of all let me thank the hotel and staff of how well they managed with all COVID measures and making us feel safe at all times. The quality of food was very good and there was lots of variety and choice every day. The open buffet was replaced by having staff at different stations to hand out food to you from behind plexiglass and wearing masks and gloves making it safe for everyone to enjoy their meals. There were sometimes waiting times for popular items but it was all ok. We liked the kids club and the water park which provided excellent entertainment for 2 times 2 hours. The pool itself is big and the area around it is really nice and plenty of umbrellas available. You can get free drinking water throughout the day no matter what board you booked. Just outside the gates is the beach where you can find plenty of places to rent a bed from at the beach for 4 to 5 Euro a day and there are some really good chiringuitos and restaurants with good local food as well. The beach promenade brings you to the area by the lighthouse as well where there is a choice of different restaurants, too. The room was on the small side for three but beds were very comfortable and the room had a balcony with a clothes line to hang. The bathroom was a bit dated but very clean and totally functional. The shower had excellent water pressure. Loved the aqua gym every day by the pool which was very upbeat. All in all the family enjoyed it and we would definitely consider coming back. Disliked · Halfboard included no drinks whatsoever not even table water; charging 3 Euro per day for the safe; No rooms were cleaned on the Sunday; toilets in common areas were not very clean; toilets by pool smelled badly and are obviously hard to keep clean all the time with the swimmers; there were signs that said that reserving deckchairs was not permitted but it was common practice to do so and by 12 you would find it hard to find a free deckchair; no children entertainment in the evening (which meant kids were running around a lot incl. our own ;-) I would have wished for more vegetables in addition to salad and more fresh fruit at the buffet.
