We have just returned from a five day stay II exchange (we were booked for seven but as we were driving to other places in Austria and Germany we only planned to stay for 5 days). The hotel is situated above a large ugly car park just off the main road from Budapest to Krakow which is at times extremely busy with lorries and coaches. It is a ski resort so we knew it would be on the quiet side which it was although it was much busier at weekends but I think there was only about 4 rooms occupied during the week. The reception and communal areas are very dark and plush – a bit like a gentleman’s club lots of dark leather settees and large ornate mirrors and furnishing but very comfortable. The room was a decent side with quality fittings, comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Robes and slippers are provided and the room is serviced every day. The TV has very limited (none) English channels and there is no radio. There is a replenished mini bar with wine some very odd ‘spirits’, water, soft drinks etc. and the prices are very reasonable. There was no outside sitting area so it does become quite claustrophobic. It is a small hotel only two floors of hotel rooms and the top floor is a very good wellness suite, beware though it does not allow any swimsuits! There are three saunas a steam room, fabulous Jacuzzi and an ice room and freezing plunge pool. There is a charge of €14 but you can stay and relax looking out at the mountains and there is a nice balcony to use. The restaurant is excellent, we ate in it four of the five nights and every meal was superb. The food and wine is rather dearer than the other eateries but worth it. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly.

This must be the best hotel in the valley of Donovaly.
We are currently enjoying a live gypsy band in the 5 star restaurant after a wonderful meal.
We've spent a week enjoying the accommodation with the very helpful staff.

Rooms are nice and clean. Modern and updated. There is very little snow so its slow in the ski slopes. Ski season runs until March.
The spa and massages are excellent. Food was okay to good. Maybe it was the duck that I ordered, not sure. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Its a nice hotel. No English channels on TV.

Coming from USA, I phoned one week in advance to confirm the two-week stay that I had booked months before. Instead, I was told that my reservation was only for three nights! It took days to correct this error. Tonight as we were going to the restaurant for dinner, we were told it was closed all night for a private party of nearly one hundred people. As I write this review, it is 2:30 in the morning, and there is loud club music with thumping bass directly below our room--making it impossible to sleep. When I ask the manager when she intends to stop the party, she simply indicates that this is a private party, and it will go on through the night. Hotels do this sort of thing, she says. DON'T STAY HERE!

Spent a skiing weekend there.

Rooms
As seen on the homepage pictures, therefore no pictures shot. Was wondering because most hotels tune the pictures to the best, then you get disappointed on arrival. Here not.
Big cupboard at the door, hangers, minibar (tho the fridge worked rather as a heater), free safe, TV. The bed was a huge double, hard but comfortable.
Wifi is free and probably the best ever I found.
The rooms are overlooking a huge parking lot and the main road that goes through the mountains. Against that noise was not a problem at all.
The bathroom is quite small, weird is that there’s no curtain for the shower -- turn your back on the wall or take a bath.
Everywhere good quality materials are used, seems like recently built or renovated, a little tear and wear here and there.

Breakfast
Nice, self serving buffet breakfast. Quite wide selection of cold and hot dishes. From smoked salmon to the usual cheese, salami, salads, some sweets, fruits. Coffee is from the automat, there’s real one too, probably for some extra.

Location
A few meters walk to a ski rental house, on the way to the blue slopes. There’s a bridge over the main road, you can buy tickets right on the other side of the bridge. It’s rather far away from the kids funpark and ice skate rink.

Restaurant
They are cooking good, delicious and also not expensive. Only caveat is if it’s near full, dining time is over 2 hours. That’s unbearable with a 3 year old. Head north to the next bar/pub/building north, not exactly the same quality but fast service. Over there they serve a nice mojito.

Wellness
Free entrance for hotel guests, you get a bathrobe and a slapper free in your room. 4 types of sauna, steam bath, cool down facilities and a jacuzzi. The only thing we bumped into that it’s not all day open, but just from the afternoon, maybe 16h.

There’s a storage room for ski equipment in the basement. Skiboot warmers are just enough for everyone, last ones might not be lucky enough to get one. You can exit/enter through the garage.

Kids eye view (3 years old):
The wellness is excellent but no kids allowed under 7. Well there’s no swimming pool and sauna is not for them.
At breakfast there’s no warm (only cold) milk or cacao powder. There are a lot of various sized highchairs in the restaurant. There are I think 4 dishes for kids in the lunch/dinner menu.
Wifi all over the place makes it easy to play youtube.

This hotel is a real 4 stars. The entire staff was very friendly which is pretty rare in Slovakia. The food at the restaurant was fine - Slovak specialities was really interesting. Soft drinks and alcohol are not so expensive and the lounge room is cosy, homely.

The room was very clean, spacious and agreeable. Nothing special to say about this point. But don't wait something else than Slovak or Czech TV canals (but this is only a meaningless detail).

Nice hotel, with a sunny view on a blue ski - slope. Our room had no balcony, it was clean, nice and quiet. Hotel has perfect wellness, on the top floor, very pleasant and luxury with beautiful view on Donovaly mountains. Only negative is, that it is public. Staff here was friendly but some people don't understand work in travel services, food was really good also choices of menu. Hotel is close to slopes, has own parking, we spent a nice weekend here.
