My son and I stayed here for one night on 30/06 and can’t fault it. We were greeted by the very pleasant Daniella on reception who remained most helpful throughout our stay and spoke good English. Overall the hotel was spotlessly clean, great value and we benefitted from a superb view overlooking the town and mountains from our balcony. We did not sample the evening restaurant but the breakfast was a well stocked continental and they provided Gluten Free options if required.
Stopped here overnight in March, we had a great room with a wonderful balcony catching the afternoon sun, the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the town really friendly staff, good buffet breakfast, we thought it was extremely good value for money.
We stayed at this hotel just one night over the summer. THe hotel is located a bit outside of the city center. You can walk to the centre, it will take you about 15 minutes. Street parking is available and free. The room was ok, it had a large window and balcony with a view on the city. The bathroom could have an upgrade, it's a bit worn,, there was a lamp missing which we mentioned at the front desk, they were going to fix, but they didn't. The room was quiet at night. The Wifi worked well in all areas. The breakfast buffet was good, it had everything you need. Front desk staff was friendly.
We booked a room not expecting much from a small hotel in a small Portuguese countryside town. Meaning: we expected an outdated countryside decoration and very friendly but semi-professional staff (I am Portuguese myself). Surprise, surprise, we found a hotel with modern decoration from top to toe, perfectly suited for a weekend visiting the nearby walking trail. Very professional and also friendly reception staff, and a good enough breakfast. We’ll stay here again if (when) we visit this walking trail again. Caution: it’s easy to drive past the hotel without seeing it – we did the first time, and had to turn around, he, he. But I guess that also speaks of its low-key profile in the landscape. The reception recommended the Parlamento restaurant, and so do we: excellent meet dishes, giant size.…
This hotel although needing some renovation (not much) is ideal for staying in Arouca. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good considering the price you pay. Also, very pleasant, is the balcony – wide and equipped with chairs and table. Enjoy!
