I have just returned from a 6 night stay at Timbuktu where I was attending a yoga & rock climbing holiday. The accommodation at the hostel exceeded my expectations. The rooms are really clean with incredibly comfortable beds, good AC, and great showers. It is a fantastic place with a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, spearheaded by the owner Marco. This hostel is a good as any hotel I have stayed in and I would have no hesitation in recommending it as a place to stay.

I feel so lucky to have discovered this place! Thanks to a yoga and rock climbing retreat I spent a week at the place and then decided to stay more with my boyfriend who came to visit. I have travelled in hostels for many years around the world and I think that what makes the Timbuktu a special place to stay are: 1. The amazing welcome and positive attitude of the owner. Marco loves his job and is capable of helping in any situation. He really outdid himself during the retreat by helping us with car lifts during heavy rain, organising parties, entertaining us with his exotic outfits and making friends with all of us! 2. The cleanness of the place. I have never seen such a clean hostel! They really care about the hygiene of the place. Every morning the room was cleaned and tidied with detail and it smelled really nice. You feel like your mum has just prepared it. 3. Common areas are great. The kitchen is big with every utensil you might need and kept clean and tidy by the volunteers working at the hostel. The outdoor area is a perfect place to chill and meet interesting people. Many table games and fusball are available for rainy days. Herbs in the garden can be used for cooking ;) 4. It is environmentally friendly. A lot of care and attention is dedicated to the separation of garbage, water is available to fill your water bottles, and signs everywhere remind you to respect the environment. Totally sustainable! 5.. beds are super comfy and the curtains in my room allowed a perfect level of privacy. Ok I could go on and on but I think that at thus point you can go and check yourself how unbelievable this place is! Thank you to Marco and all the staff, will see you soon 😊

Best of the best! I've stayed in a lot of hostels over the years (lots and lots) and I think I would have to say that Timbuktu was probably #1 of all of them; super clean, comfortable, great owner and staff, great vibe and an attention to detail that very few hostel owners manage to achieve. Six stars, great work Marco, you have created something very special here!

Timbuktu Hostel is a very clean, Open, funny and wonderful place to stay! Our group from the Yoga and Climbing retreat stayed with Marco and his team! It was such a wonderful time, Marco did everything to keep us happy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful! It‘s very nice surrounding, not directly in the touristy area of San Vito lo Capo but still very close to reach everything. I highly recommend the Timbuktu hostel for a stay! :)

Just came back from a Yoga and Climbing Retreat, the group stayed at Timbuktu. From the moments we walked in, the atmosphere and energy of the space made us feeling like home. Then we were greeted by Marco( the best host and hostel owner on this planet) and the staffs who worked at hostel, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are absolutely clean and well organised; we spent so much time in the kitchen cooking sharing and talking to new friends, the recycling system and consciously environmental focus are making the wonderful educational experience, I am carrying these habits back home:) Marco and his staffs also offered so much extras to the group, such as driving us around when it’s pouring rain, offering yummy and healthy local foods, organising games and karaoke and beach parties:) They made us feel like their friends not guests in the hostel, it was so hard to say goodbye at the end of the stay, it will be a ‘see you again soon’ . Thank you Marco and all the wonderful people who we met in hostel, see you again soon❤️

I stayed in the hostel with a group of 10 other climbers last week and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Great bar/chill out area. Well equipped kitchen. The rooms and bed linen were pristine. The owner Marco was a brilliant host - helpful and friendly - helping us out regardless of the request... and the breakfasts were yum too...

Brilliant place with an ever helpful owner. Whatever you want to do Marco will have an answer and probably a recommendation. If you're not sure what to do he'll definitely have great suggestions. Great location, great place and friendly staff. Great sounds in the evening and a relaxing bar too.
