We stayed here for 5 nights as our daughter was working at the Neilson resort opposite. So glad we did, nice setting, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was good, the staff were very friendly. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We chose to stay at The Cala Mirto because of its location right next to the Neilson hotel where our daughter is working. It could not have been more convenient. Our room was simply furnished and kept spotlessly clean with clean towels every day and had a very useful room fridge. If I returned, I’d take a travel kettle as I missed my morning cuppa and taking coffee back to the room was not permitted. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The pool area was great with plenty of sun beds and shades Breakfasts were as expected continental style. We had dinner there one evening and the chef very kindly (with advance notice) was able to alter the set menu to suit our vegetarian daughter. The nearby beach was lovely and the local coast is beautiful - mostly pine fringed and all very clean. Would recommend a trip to Posada - fantastic views from the top of the castle I wouldnt hesitate to return to this very good three star hotel.

Been here for 10 days as a lone traveller and hotel-wise I think the good reviews are accurate. Faultless no-fuss check in after a delayed flight & late arrival on my part which was great. English isn't spoken at reception but this isn't a problem, she has good understanding. My room was a nice firm double bed. Aircon worked fine but due to being a Sept visit it wasn't necessary for me to use. Main room & bathroom were perfectly suitable sized with really good - and quick - daily cleaning. Appreciated this as cleaning has been an issue elsewhere. Only 2 gripes about the room were 1) massive lack of plug sockets, as someone who permanently charges gadgets there are only 2. Had to plug out the fridge to use one. And 2. When the fridge was plugged in it wasn't working. Minor gripes though room was fine & safe with a nice little veranda at the back and table, chairs & washing lines and pegs. Very thin walls however, could hear the tennis court & room next door. Wifi signal could do with boosting but as someone who works in this area I get the feeling you won't see much improvement here in Sardinia due to wall materials, doors & the complex layout. The facilities are great, pool is fine for me with lots of beds. Lovely views, a garden & kids playground across the way. Breakfast was continental, no hot food mainly pastries, bread, ham, cheese, fruit & yogurt & juices with a coffee machine. Daniele was a brill waiter, spoke English and kept me company with chats about his travels & recommendations for Budoni & Sardinia. Had 2 evening meals but alas being end of season the restaurant shut down a week before I left - not great especially with me being on half board. Remains to be seen if this will be reflected in the price. Main long sandy Budoni beach is 20 mins walk away, get a car if you have physical or mobility problems. Beaches nearest to hotel are stony or shingly/full of smelly seaweed which nothing can be done about due to environmental laws. There is a sailing school nearby but alas unavailable to "us" as it's part of the Neilson all inclusive resort across from the hotel (which I used as a short cut to get to Budoni beach). Nice little pizza place as a walk up the hill 10 mins too but otherwise from 1 Sept on there is almost nothing to do or eat between the hours of 1-7pm. That's not the hotel's fault but keeping the restaurant open until actual close of season would have helped with this a lot. Also €5 for a glass of wine is expensive when it's generally €3 everywhere else in Budoni. The resort in general has too little for me & is a bit too quiet, taxis are very thin on the ground. But overall with consideration the Hotel Cala Mirto is cosy, safe, rooms are lovely & clean. Just bear in mind it's basic and there's not much close to it within strolling distance so consider a car. During the summer months there is a free Budoni bus that leaves from the gate of the Neilson Hotel across the road, goes every 2/3 hours, last one back at 7. However this stopped the weekend just gone. Shops locally are also very basic - Sardinia is a VERY rural island with facilities to match. So if you're used to taxis, good public transport links, lots of things to do, places to go & eat, maybe Sardinia isn't for you. But if you want a quiet chilled relaxing time & if you're willing to walk a lot, get a bike/car & are fine with basic but well-run clean safe accomodation, choose Sardinia & the Hotel Cala Mirto!

The Hotel Cala Mirto offers simple accommodation in a rustic setting, the staff at reception are friendly and cheerful and the hotel is just short walk from the beach. Our room was very spacious which was nice, our biggest problem with the room was the shower which has been very poorly designed and as a result the bathroom floor was flooded every time we showered which was quite annoying as we had to use almost all our towels, including our beach towels to try and soak up the mess, we eventually had to keep turning the water off in between washing our hair etc to try and keep the situation under control. The staff are very friendly although there was some communication issues as no one really understands English, this was especially a problem when ordering lunch and drinks from the bar and restaurant. The hotel offer free parking, they have a lovely swimming pool area, they also have free wifi, although the wifi is not great in the rooms and they offered us the use of an umbrella for free for the beach which was really helpful. The breakfast was very basic, not much variety and the menu for the restaurant is also quite basic with little explanation of what you are actually getting. While this is a very nice, quiet little place in good proximity to the beach/s it is not within walking distance of any restaurants, shops etc which means to you need to drive everywhere.

We stayed here for 3 nights, the rooms are situated in a garden setting, they are clean and have air conditioners which are most welcome. The hotel offers wi fi but it's not great. The breakfasts were adequate, they also offered fresh fruit which was most welcome. The staff were pleasant . The beaches are great, either a short walk or drive away.
