I just stopped over (many times) while skiing and I must recommend this place; the service is very quick, even when the joint is packed in high season (winter-time); I had typical dishes (pizzoccheri, polenta taragna with sausage, etc) and never regretted it. You can also have a very nice spritz with some ham and cheese.

Came here with my family for the last two years to snowboard and this place is already like a second home to me, everyone is friendly here including the Scuola Da Sci staff, the first stay here I broke my wrist while snowboarding but I didn't even worry with them. 11/10 would recommend this to anyone

It's my third or fourth time here at Bucaneve, I must have lost count. We arrived late tonight because the roads were quite bad due to a snowstorm. Nevertheless Marco had a table laid down for us and served hot food and good wine well past the restaurant hours. Just like when you are waiting for a friend. The rooms are clean, the food is gorgeous and you are right on the slopes. I wouldn't change this place for any other mountain hotel. By far, my favorite.

We were there with a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) for 5 nights beginning of april. Rooms: We had 2 connecting rooms where you could easily sleap 6 people. The rooms are big and very clean. Comfort is basic but everything you need is there. No bath, only shower, but that was no issue for us. A big positive is the floor as there are no carpets. The rooms have a balcony as well but you don't really use it as the hotel is surrounded by huge terraces where you can enjoy the sun all day long. Restaurant: The food is simple but good. For dinner, the first course is typically a choice of pasta or soup. Second course is fish or meat. Again, nothing fancy but well done. That's all you need after a day of snow. The wines are very affordable. Breakfast is basic with croissants and pistolets. They could use some choice of bread, I think. Some cold cuts and fruits are available but you have to ask for it. Coffees and chocolate milk are selfservice but the machine is excellent...you are in Italy, so you kind of expect a good coffee. Bar: A very simple set-up but very honest prices for the drinks. Try the aperol spritz or one of the schnapses. If you take an aperitive, they will serve some delicious cold cuts with that. Service: The whole family is extremely friendly and helpful. You really feel at home. Location: Excellent as it is next to the chairlift. Opposite to the hotel you can rent your ski material. Several slopes arrive at the hotel, so ideal for kids. The only issue could be arriving at the hotel as it is situated at 1750 meters so it could be tricky in fresh snow...don't forget the chains. Also if you come from the north, from Switserland, the Splugenpass is closed in wintertime, so you have to go around Lugano, which is a serious detour. The village is 20 min down the road on foot or you could walk up to the "baita del sole bar" and then take the lift right into the village, which is a nice little cosy place with some nice bars as well. All in all, a great place to stay, thanks to Marco and the whole family. Arrividerci!
