We stayed for 18 nights with Jet2 holidays on B & B basis. As a couple our preference is for small family run hotels where staff have a vested interest in the business. For a small hotel the breakfast choice was good. Loved the Greek pastries and yoghurt , fruit etc. The 1st floor room had good sized sunny balcony and views over the harbour. Bed was comfortable and good storage space for our 18 days worth of luggage! Being at the bottom of town meant uphill walk to town/shops/bars & restaurants. The upper old town and castle was a steep walk about 30 mins away. We had a hire car for our full stay so made use of this to see the main tourist sites Olympia, Pylos, Messenia, and as Greek history enthusiasts we also found lots of lesser known sites. The swimming pool area of the hotel was attractive with plenty of sunbeds and seats for evening drinks. Bar staff were lovely and attentive and drinks reasonably priced. Hotel did serve evening meal but not Greek cuisine. We ate there on our first night and food was plentiful and good value. Nikos the owner was helpful and a good host. A really enjoyable stay at this hotel. Tip. Hire car locally was difficult as reported by some guests. Unless you are looking for a chilled week away a car is essential to get the best out of the area.…
This is a spotlessly and well run hotel. All the staff are friendly and helpful.Breakfast was varried and plentiful, the pool area comfortable and relaxing. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a balcony and a nice view of the pool and harbour.Close by is a lovely restaurant, and a couple of great beaches close by.This is not your typical resort more of a small Greek town.We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and town. Many thanks to all the staff.
Stayed at the Kyparissia Beach Hotel for 7 nights first week of September. This hotel is a real little gem. Spotlessly clean with great views, we had a wonderful week. The rooms are clean and modern. The bathroom is fully tiled with plenty of hot water, and a lovely shower cubicle. The air conditioning and room safe are free of charge. Bedlinen and towels were fresh and clean and monogrammed with the hotels initials. Bed were very comfortable. The room was cleaned daily, and we had fresh sheets and linen at least 3 times during the week. Pool area is spotlessly clean with plenty of tables and chairs and a few comfy loungers. Only slight issue we had was the pool tiles were very slippery when wet. We got round this year wearing our beach shoes. Hotel is facing the marina with beaches to either side. We were lucky enough to see the turtles swimming in the marina. Breakfast is a buffet with enough choice for all. A lovely relaxing break and we would return. …
We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying at this hotel. The room was small but clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The fridge in the room didn’t work and when we reported it we were told there was a limit on the temperature fridges could be run but ours was warmer than the room!! It was never repaired! The bathroom was adequate and had an enclosed shower, unfortunately the water didn’t seem to maintain an average temperature and varied from hot to cold while using it. There was a reasonable selection at breakfast but the only fresh fruit was melon every day, would have been nice to have had some of the peaches and nectarines that were in season. There was always a smell of cigarette smoke in the reception and breakfast area as the manager behind the reception desk smoked there and also what seemed like family members who sat at a table in the restaurant area all day and smoked. Not at all pleasant. The swimming pool and surrounding area were lovely with very comfortable sun beds. It seemed to become really busy early evening with family’s and youngsters who just turn up to use the pool. A nice gesture when we left we were given a bottle of local olive oil. We hired a car for three days and explored the area which is very beautiful and as yet not too touristy. We had a day at Olympia which was extremely interesting. It’s a very big area to walk round and very hot so take plenty of water and comfy shoes. The museum was cool and beautifully laid out. Very worth a visit. If you are going to hire a car, do it at the airport. There don’t seem to be many in Kyparissia to hire. All in all we enjoyed our week in Kyparissia.…
Basic room but clean. Smelled really good when entering. Pool is available. Quite area near the small port of Kyparissía. Bathroom was acceptable because shower was a bit too small. Breakfast from 7h30 till 10h. Enough variaty because we stayed only 5 days. At checking out the owner asked us 7,5 euro city tax which we knew we had to pay. I gave him a 10 euro bill and right away him came to gives us a hand and asked for review on Tripadvisor, which we did but we did not get our 2,5 euro back. Tip: pay the amount you gave to and nothing more.
We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. It was fine. Nothing was very bad or very good. Everything average. It was OK for our 4 days in Kiparissia. The breakfast was not that good. Only the basics as a choice so if I would choose this hotel again, I would go without breakfast
1.Our Double Room was quite small, we viewed two other rooms with single beds which were larger. 2. Our toilet did not flush for 24 hours. Someone eventually looked at it and adjusted it but told me I had to hold the cistern whilst pushing more, 'strongly and sharply'. 3. Our shower was extremely small and I had to be careful on each occasion after hitting my knee on the fittings the first time I showered. 4. Our Air Conditioning Unit barely worked for the first two nights and after it had also been looked at by someone from the hotel, it was only adequate at best 5. We asked to change rooms but were told the hotel was full. 6. We were unable to eat lunch/dinner at the hotel because their menu was very limited and they didn't serve any 'Greek staples or specialities' which was very odd. 7.The Jet2 information board was devoid of information and the booklet indicated that the rep (Millie) did not visit our hotel. 8.The booklet also indicated there were 11 excursions available for clients to choose each week. However, in the two weeks at the hotel none (of a possible 22) excursions took place. When I insisted the rep come to the hotel, she told me there was no demand for these trips as hardly any English people were staying in the region!…
We have arrived home tonight from a lovely holiday at Kyparissia Beach hotel. The family run hotel you can tell is run with pride and courtesy and is meticulously clean. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool and marina .The air con was perfect the shower was very functional. The reception staff are so helpful. When we arrived we were given a very informative map of the region . You really do need carhire for Kyparissia unless you just want to vacation on the beach or by the pool which can get quite busy at certain times of the day. Reception will recommend a good local carhire Company for you along with recommendations for restaurants. Last night they made a fabulous reservation for us up in the old Town .They ordered us a cab and we spent an hour watching the sunset before our meal in the cafe tucked under the castle ruins sipping cocktails. Kyparissia is a seaside town with stunning mountains and lovely beach .It also has many possibilities to pass away a few hours on very unspoilt beauty spots where if you have beach shoes on you can bravely climb over the rocks to snorkel or swim in the clear blue sea. There is a modern square in the new part of town with many bars restaurants and on Friday they had a live group performing there late in the evening. The whole area has many sightseeing possibilities with a car .At the moment no escorted excursions are available. Kyparissia is not a typical commercial resort it has quite a few shops bars etc but not souvenir shops and arcades ..its quirky with an abandoned railway station made into a restaurant a small marina in which the hotel is situated on Only few mins walk from the modern square. Its definitely a unique little town and a great welcome will be waiting for you if you choose Kyparissia Beach Hotel. Small and friendly ..simple and sweet . …
Just back from a weeks break with Jet2 staying at Kyparissia Beach Hotel. We arrived fairly late Sunday evening to a lovely welcome from hotel staff. We decided to eat at the hotel and was served by the lovely Lefteris, who went to the trouble of preparing our favourite cocktails that weren’t on the menu. He looked after us very well throughout the whole week, It was a very relaxing week, the hotel was really good, very clean, modern rooms, we had a view of the harbour. I read a previous review that said this is a working harbour and whist I would agree with that, we did see several rather lovely sailing yachts. The breakfast which was included was one of the best continental breakfasts in terms of variety. Fresh pastries, cold meats and cheeses, selection of cereals, yogurt and honey, toast and eggs, bacon/sausages, which were alternated each day. The pool area was immaculate and the pool very warm, there was plenty of seating around the pool. We ate a couple of evening meals at the hotel and again food was very good and reasonably priced. The beach was only an 8 min walk, one slight incline, but the beach had lots of amenities, sun loungers, which were free (if you bought a drink). The sea was lovely and clear, but lots of pebbles at the sea edge which made it a bit tricky coming out the sea, although younger people didn’t seem to have a problem. We walked up to the town on one occasions, and had a nice meal. There was a square with bars and outdoor seating, but our favourite spot was the old town. Because it’s quite hilly and was 33degs most days we took a taxi (5 euros) up to the castle in the old town. The castle was closed unfortunately, but next door we found a fab cafe with amazing views, a great drinks menu and it was much cooler up there. We spent a couple of afternoons exploring and went back in the evening for a meal at one of the restaurants which was great food. We have had a wonderful relaxing week, it was perfect for us, Kyparissia is not a touristy destination and most people holidaying seemed to be Greek which was lovely.…
Hotel spotless , staff fantastic work very hard always friendly and helpful Lovely pool and surrounding area Cannot stress how much we relaxed and enjoyed our stay Kettle in room would have been the icing on the cake The only thing we found nowhere about kyparisdia and this is not the hotels fault is in no review does it mention that it is very hilly and makes it unsuitable for a lot of people especially in high temperatures
