First of all I wanted to tell that I read an review about someone complaining about the staff regarding kids. And I wanted to tell that we stayed here with 4 couples and 2 little kids. and the staff was really attentive to us all they even gave us a corner where to kids playground was so the kids could move around freely. So as I said the staff was friendly and attentive. Locationwise it is perfect, situated right in the old towncenter. walking distance from supermarket, restaurants, bakery,..... The breakfast perfect for everyone. enough meat for meat lovers enough possibilities for vegetarians/ vegans . The only reason I gave it a four star instead of a five star is that our mattress was felling a bit old, just decent enough and because it is an old house. It is a bit loud. The rooms themselves are big enough, same counts for the bathroom. they are just a bit old-fashioned imho. So overall a pretty pleasant stay. good for bigger groups as well.

The hotel is located just on the Westweg (after you pass wooden bridge over the river) and proper for overnight stay when walking Westweg. The staff at the reception was very carefull and gave us detail instructions for breakfast (using gloves and not more than three people at the self-service desk at the same time) and showing the whole hotel, the room and the corner where you can prepare coffee ar tea for free. They also told us where are opened restaurant in this village for that day. The room was spacious, with air radiator and bootle of water. Breakfast was also plentiful and despite all measures due to Covid-19 run smoothly.

We have stayed in the hotel for one night with our 3 children. When we arrived we needed to listen to a lot! of instructions, far to much. Also we were told to keep our children quiet and that they were not allowed to run or jump. The staff was also very afraid of Covid-19. For breakfast they almost forced us to go and eat outside in the cold but we refused. Then we were not allowed to sit in the dining room but needed to sit in the hallway, totally separate from the other guest. Conclusion: not a relaxed stay at all and not friendly for kids.

Dear guest, thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that our kind reminds during the Covid 19 time and kind reminds about not jumping and running in the room makes you unhappy. But as house owner, we always want to make sure that all the guests have a comfortable stay and hope all the guest can think for others. You are on the top floor and we just tell you if the children running or jumping in the room could affect guests down stairs, so please just pay attention. And there are several exits in house which we want to show you after check in, how to get out after main door closed, how to use the mini bar. A lot of guests get lost in house, so the small introduction just want to make sure you find the right path. We don´t think any information we provide by checking is unnecessary. Some of the guests don´t care about the covid 19, but most of the guest and also we have respect to the rules and regulation in the special time. We believe it is our duty to make most of the guests feel safe and comfortable in this time. During the breakfast time, we never "force" anybody to sit outside. We always ask where the guest prefer. But of course there were some days that inside tables are all full occupied and only outside tables are free. And we suggest the round table next to the window and it is the only table we can find for you inside and actually it is a very nice corner to have sunshine and view of garden. Best regards! Das Waldhaus

Charming. Sweet. Friendly. What a lovely hotel. What a lovely team managing it. We were vegetarian and travelling with an infant and they made our 3 days so relaxing. The rooms are comfortable. The terrace and the entire property is easy to hang in with books and other things. We enjoyed ourselves and would totally recommend this to others.

When looking for accommodations in Baden-Baden, me and my wife found very expensives prices. So the travel agent offered some options in cities nearby, that were not so expensive. We found this hotel. When we first arrived, we were a little bit shocked: it was 12h00 and the reception was closed. I never saw a hotel reception closed and was surprised. There was a sign that the reception was only open from 15h00 to 20h00, what was quite different. We looked for some place to eat on the city, but everything was closed, so we went to Baden Baden to eat and returned later. Besides that inconvenience, the hotel was quite good. The hotel is quite beautiful, and well kept, and the team that works there is really nice. The only item we had trouble was the ice machine. The city is quite small, and if not on season quite empty, what makes really hard to find someplace to eat. One good side is that the hotel is a 5 minutes walk from a supermarket, so it's easy to buy supplies.

Dear guest, thanks very much for your review and comments. Our reception time is given throuth booking system automatically after reservation. Please read carefully. In Germany, especially in country side like Forbach (2000 people village, not even a town!), guests houses won't´have 24 hours reception like in big city such as San Paolo. We are in a hiking area and 90% guests will arrive after 3 pm before 8 pm. As a family run small house, we only have 2 people at the reception, there is impossible for us to stay outside 24 hours and wait. Besides, we only have 3 cleaning ladies for 23 rooms, and we have different room types, they also need time to clean the rooms and house during this time. We hope you will understand us better. Best regards Das Waldhaus
