I stayed 5 days in the non-AC rooms which are quite spacious and clean. The people are friendly. The hotel is in front of a great surf school and 200m from the amazing Guiones beach break. Breakfast starts later than in other places (7h30) so I never tried and always went somewhere else (time is different there, you will see!)....

This was a great experience and exactly what we wanted. Perfect location near the beach and great hotel service. Didn't find the reception to be that warm or informative. Restaurants/bars are pricey but that was expected at the beach. The room was without AC but the fan was great. It was noisy at times but mostly okay! The live music...

My partner and I have stayed at the Iguana numerous times over the past few years. The rooms are clean, comfortable and provide all you need for a low key stay near the beach. (Don't expect tv in the room, you really don't need it). Housekeeping staff are lovely, trustworthy and clean the rooms daily. A/c rooms are definitely quieter...

We stayed here for two nights. Rooms are spacious and clean. The rooms above the restaurant are huge! but not so quiet. The rooms on the ground behind the pool are not as big, but much quieter. Restaurant is convenient and food is decent, if not inspired. Drinks (including batidos/naturales) are yummy. The grounds were very clean, and everyone was...

I stayed here for a full week the third week of May. My friend and I stayed in an AC double room, the first one behind the pool. I thought it was clean, quiet, safe and overall a great value. The restaurant/bar was also very good (try a "Tropical Storm") and one of the things I liked the most was...

Good lower-cost place to stay while surfing in Nosara. The restaurant is delicious throughout the day, and the pool is great for relaxing. Location works well, both a short walk from the beach as well as close to a market, surf shops, and several other good restaurants. We chose one of the inexpensive non-AC rooms, it was perfect for our...

My family has stayed here over the years because the folks are friendly and helpful; the location is fantastic; the food is tasty; and the overall value is great. We have only stayed in the AC rooms and plan to return when we head back to Costa Rica.

This is a great place that is centrally located to happening part of town. Easy walk to food market and bank. Bring water and take the jungle path. straight walk to the beach to surf the north end to paddle down to the palm tree. Great food.

The Gilded Iguana is an adorable little hotel, and we thoroughly enjoyed the 3 nights we stayed there. It looks even better in person than it does on the website! Our room was cozy, clean, and perfect for us. It was such a friendly atmosphere - Joellen and her staff really seem to do their best to make everyone feel...
